In the late 40's, studies of Walt Disney had a period of great economic difficulty, both because of the crisis for the World War, and because the previous movies, Pinocchio, Fantasia and Bambi, did not have the success hoped for. Walt Disney realized short cartoons, which were used to cover the cost of production. It was necessary to make a definite decision, with the production of a new film. Walt Disney at this juncture, realized that same the productions studios could fail, so he carefully studied every detail. His reference point was the previous realization of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which is the unfortunate of a girl story, who she is redeemed at the end. He decided for the classic tale of Cinderella, known throughout the world, thanks to the version of Charles Perrault. He then entrusted to the staff of expert designers and animators, who has personally selected, based on the characters to realize, directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson and Hamilton Luske.
Thus was born, another masterpiece of animation, where Walt Disney, demonstrates his talent of great storyteller and entertainer, without giving a moment of boredom, for all 74 minutes of projection. The movie was released in U.S. theaters in 1950 and received such a success, to raise the famous animation studio and run it next to other works.

The Cinderella story begins in a faraway land, when lived a rich man with his little daughter. The man was a widower and despite all the loving attention given to the maiden, felt the need to remarry, to assure her the affection and care of another mother. His choice fell on Lady Tremaine, a widow lady of noble birth, who from his previous marriage, had two daughters: Anastasia and Drizella.
Unfortunately the man died of an illness, leaving her daughter to her stepmother, who proved to be cruel to her. She squandered the wealth of her husband, to satisfy the vices of his daughters, and has relegated the princess to the role of servant, who was named by the derogatory nickname of Cinderella, because among the many household chores, collect the ashes fireplace. But Cinderella was marked by a rare beauty and a innate grace, that in comparison, the stepsisters made a bad impression. Their mother was aware and did everything to belittle Cinderella, to the point of wearing to the maiden, the clothes more humble and to relegate it, in one tower of the castle cold and dark. Despite the trouble, Cinderella has always kept her good nature, that was to have a loving gaze on everything around her, because she was sustained by the hope that dreams can come true. In her room is surrounded of the birds, who she woke up with their morning song and with the mices of the castle, which nurtured and sews for them the small clothing. n these mice, soon also joins a mouse plump and friendly, who Cinderella free from a mousetrap. Together with his small outfit, he was given the name of Gus and became the inseparable friend of the mouse Jaq. The danger number one of the mice is the cat Lucifer, beloved of Lady Tremaine, which Cinderella must serve the breakfast for first. Then she climb the stairs doing the acrobat with the trays, to bring her breakfast in bed to the stepsisters and stepmother. They do not waste time with new orders, as clean their home or aggravating with other tasks. Cinderella has to beat the carpets, mopping the floors, feeding the animals, cook, carry water, start the fire and more. Meanwhile, Gus and Jaq, study the strategies to escape the guard of the cat Lucifer, which prevents them going out for breakfast in the courtyard, that Cinderella distributes to all animals. Born some scenes funny, where the two mice, they always manage to escape for a breath, from the dangerous claws.
Not far from them, within its magnificent castle, lives the king of that kingdom, that feels very sad because his son is still unmarried and is not interesting to become engaged. Fearing vanish the dream to nephew cradled, the king summons the Grand Duke and orders him to organize a grand ball, where will participate all the young unmarried girls of the country.

Soon many were printed invitations and one of these was delivered at the home of Cinderella. When Lady Tremaine reads the letter, Anastasia and Drizella exulted with joy, because cultivating the hope to dance with the prince.
Even Cinderella dreams of this event and shyly, asks to the stepmother if can join the party. Despite the disappointment of her sisters, Lady Tremaine is not opposed and allow at Cinderella to attend the party, but on one condition: she must finish all the many chores and should wear a nice dress. Cinderella is not discouraged and started working at a good pace. However, it is in trouble, why not have an evening dress. The day of the dance, Cinderella is burdened with heavy work on the part of stepsisters and is forced her to wash and iron their skirts and their clothes, so she seeing the chariot arrive, without even a decent suit, so she rassega from idea of not take part at the party and returns to her room. Here was a pleasant surprise. The mice and birds have recovered the tapes and the stuff thrown by the sisters, and they managed to sew a beautiful dress for Cinderella, which thus has the opportunity to participate in the dance. In seeing her so beautiful and elegant Anastasia and Drizella, they go on a rampage and tore the Cinderella's clothes, accusing she of having been robbed of clothes and the necklace. So Cinderella humiliated and defeated, she burst into tears and walked into the courtyard, in the company of the mice and her animal friends.
When the girl was resigned, was surrounded by a magical cloud and appeared a middle-aged woman, dressed in a blue cape and a hood over her head. She was the Fairy Godmother, who not remember where she put her magic wand. She comforted immediately Cinderella and proved to be her godmother . So once found her magic wand, to the tune of the song “Salagadula, mencica bula, bibbidi bobbidi bu" she turned a pumpkin of the garden, in a splendid carriage. The mice were changed in 4 beautiful horses, including Gus which was in danger of ending up in the clutches of the cat Lucifer. The horse was given the role of driver and the dog Toby was transformed into an elegant butler. But the fairy godmother, she forgot the most important thing: the Cinderella's dress. Thus, those rags became a beautiful white dress, fit to a princess and to her beauty. The spell had however, just limited in time, because the stroke of midnight, everything would be returned as before. The Fairy Godmother arrived at the palace while at the Prince bored are presented all the girls in the country. The king in the company of the Grand Duke, was desperate for the indifferent attitude of his son, who showed disinterest for all of the girls.

Just during the presentation of Anastasia and Drizella, the prince saw in the distance the silhouette of Cinderella, and it was love at first sight, so left all the girls went to meet her. This behavior did not escape his father, who exult with joy he ordered at the orchestra to play. During the dance, everyone was asking who was the beautiful girl, no one had ever seen she including Anastasia, Drizella and Lady Tremaine that looks with attenction. But to protect the two boys from prying eyes, the Grand Duke closes the window curtain and so Cinderella and the Prince, undisturbed they can know among the gardens of the castle. Were beautiful and intense moments, but unfortunately short, because at the stroke of midnight, Cinderella remembered that soon would fade the spell. Terrified she ran away by the prince and ran up the stairs in haste, without having time to pick up the shoe, that had slipped and boarded the magic coach, she left the castle at high speed. The Grand Duke take the shoe and ordered to follow the coach, but research by the soldiers is vain, because in a short time, the carriage turned back into a pumpkin, the horses become again mice and Cinderella finds herself dressed in rags, as she was before of the arrival of the fairy, with the exception that still retained a crystal shoe. The next day, the king already dreamed of being surrounded by two beautiful grandchildren, but soon the Duke took him back to reality, telling of the escape of the girl, that has lost her crystal slipper. The king's wrath is subsided only when the Duke told him that his son, decided to marry that girl. So the king sent the Grand Duke and his vassal for the whole country, to search for the mysterious girl, who could thread the little shoe. When the news came to Lady Tremaine, she ordered to her daughters to prepare to receive the Grand Duke, and fed the their hopes of being able to marry the prince, but from the movements of Cinderella, she realized that the girl in question could well be she. So by deceit, Cinderella was locked in the her room, just at the arrival of the Grand Duke and his vassal, who carrying the glass slipper on a pillow. Cinderella's desperate, she cried in vain, for get out of her room and this time the mice her friends came to her aid. Their mission was to pull out the room key, from the pocket of Cinderella's stepmother.
Meanwhile, Anastasia and Drizella, with rude and arrogant behavior, try to convince the vassal in an attempt to thread the their big foot in the small shoe, with the only result of irritating the Grand Duke. Because of their wits and their courage Gus and Jaq, they take the key and it carrying up the stairs of the castle, but once they reached the threshold of the room, they must overcome the biggest obstacle: the cat Lucifer. These try to capture them in all possible ways and not even give up the attacks of the other mice. So Cinderella by means of a bird, alert the dog for help they, who with his arrival, chases away the cat. When the Duke decides to leave, is stopped by the arrival of Cinderella, who asks to thread the shoe. The Grand Duke saw the beautiful girl, goes to her with enthusiasm, but stumble for fault the stepmother and shatters the delicate crystal slipper.
The Duke is in despair at the thought of the possible wrath of the king, but Cinderella takes away from under the apron also the other shoe, which shoves to the foot without problems: it is perfect. So rang the bells of the kingdom, to celebrate the marriage between the Prince and Cinderella, who leave for their honeymoon aboard a beautiful royal carriage. And from that day they lived happily ever after.
