Tip Mouse is a animated series which is inspired by the great publishing success signed by Giunti editore. The books have been translated into 28 languages, published in over 30 countries with a sales success of 9 million copies sold. The animated series was edited by studio Bozzetto & Co and produced with the collaboration of Rai fiction, Giunti editore, Studio Campedelli and m4e. The creative part of the work was directed by Andrea Bozzetto, while the Canadians mainly dealt with 3D CGI animation. The little protagonist of this series is the little mouse Tip, a bit capricious, sometimes grumpy, but who always knows how to understand his mistakes and retrace his steps.

There are several characters that populate this fun series, all characterized by one great joy and positivity. There is mum by Tip, who almost embodies the mother of other times, with her 50s outfit and necklace with string of pearls. The dad of Tip is a bit like all dads who is divided between family and work commitments, but who never forgets to give some good teaching to his puppy and who, on the contrary, takes advantage of the moments of play with Tip so as not to lose his playful soul. There Tip's grandmother A sprightly old lady, caring like all grandmothers, at times overly zealous, but very affectionate. She loves to dance and like grandparents do, she spoils the grandchildren. Grandpa A wise old man who enjoys excellent health and helps his grandson to face adversity with patience. Tippy Tip's little sister who crawls and wants her brother's games, even if she loves dolls, she is crazy about her little brother. Jody Tip's best friend, a brave and funny little badger. The two snails, which appear in all episodes, offer some funny gags.

Mouse Tip and his family

In episode "What a fear the dark", Tip stayed to sleep at his grandparents' house. It is time to go to bed and his grandfather accompanies him to his room, of course with his inevitable stuffed friend Teddy. After receiving a good night from his grandfather, Tip remains alone in the dark room. The wind is blowing outside and the branches cast eerie shadows on the wall. Tip gets scared and runs to his grandparents saying that Teddy is afraid of monsters. The grandfather takes Tip patient back into the room, explains to him that there are no monsters and leaves. But once again the shadows scare the little mouse that leaps out of bed. This time the grandfather decides to bring Tip to know the dark. She takes him out into the garden and shows him how the night has nothing different from the day and that every noise has its own explanation. They see fireflies, an owl and shadows. When they return to the bedroom, the grandfather projects a dinosaur-shadow on the wall with his hands. Tip understands that there are no monsters and sleeps peacefully.

Mouse Tip and his friends

In episode "I don't eat vegetables" Tip makes the classic whims that all children do. At lunch at his grandparents' house, the mouse refuses to eat the vegetable soup. He gets up from the table and sits outside in the garden. The grandmother then devises a method to induce the grandson to eat vegetables. The wise old woman goes to the garden and picks the carrots, of which Tip is greedy. When the grandson approaches his grandmother and asks for a carrot, she informs him that carrots are also vegetables. The little mouse is incredulous. The grandmother manages to make him taste a tomato that Tip finds very good. The grandmother explains to her grandson that she and her grandfather plant the seeds which then become vegetables. The little one convinces himself to taste the soup and returns to the house with his grandmother.

"I want it, I want it!" the episode in which Tip goes shopping with his mom and little sister Tippy. On a shelf in the store (a tin of sardines) he sees a beautiful fire truck. He then asks his mother to buy it for him, but she replies no as the mouse already has many toys. Tip denies it, but the mother does not give up. Once at home, the mother invites Tip to rearrange his toys so that he realizes how many there are. After the first protests, Tip agrees and finds a beautiful toy car. He realizes that his mother was right and after recognizing him he says that he no longer wants the fire truck.

The series is made with a impeccable graphics, the characters look cute plush. The colors and objects rich in details intrigue an audience ranging from 3 to 6 years. The teachings are interesting which are eviscerated during the episodes where the typical behaviors of a small child, about 2/3 years old and of the way in which patient parents and loving grandparents manage to make the little Tip always understand the right things. Overall, the series has nothing to envy to the success of the print edition.
