Batman
v Superman è un film di supereroi americano diretto da
Zack Snyder e pubblicato nel 2016. Lui segue Man of Steel (2013)
e precede Justice League (2017), entrambi dello stesso regista.
Il
giovane, Bruce Wayne fugge dalla sepoltura dei suoi genitori
(un flashback mostra il loro assassinio da parte di uno sconosciuto),
poi cade nella grotta dove una nuvola di pipistrelli ispira
la sua identità di eroe. Diciotto mesi dopo, Clark si
arrese, sotto la sua identità di Superman, in Africa per salvare
Lois Lane dirottato dai terroristi. Questo in seguito capisce
che l'operazione è stata montata da mercenari per testare nuove
munizioni che potrebbero ipoteticamente ferire Superman e che
mirava anche a rendere un massimo di vittime per incriminare
l'eroe. Lex Luthor, CEO della multinazionale LexCorp, presenta
kryptonite, un minerale radioattivo trovato nei detriti della
nave terraformante kryptoniana caduto nell'Oceano Indiano, a
un gruppo di senatori. Anzi, vuole renderlo un deterrente contro
Superman e ottiene il permesso del senatore di accedere alla
nave Kryptoniana schiacciata nel centro di Metropolis e accedere
al corpo del generale Zod per l'analisi.
Dopo
lo scontro titanico con il generale Zod, Metropolis è
stata rasa al suolo e Superman è la figura più
controversa al mondo. Sebbene per alcuni sia ancora emblema
di speranza, un numero crescente di persone lo considera una
minaccia per l'umanità e cerca giustizia per il caos
che ha scatenato sulla Terra. Per Bruce Wayne, Superman rappresenta
chiaramente un pericolo per la società. Teme gli effetti
di un tale potere incontrollato sulle sorti del mondo, e così
decide di indossare la sua maschera e il mantello per riportare
giustizia negli sbagli di Superman. La rivalità tra i
due è accecata dalla furia, alimentata da rancore e desiderio
di vendetta: nulla può dissuaderli dallo scendere in
guerra. Tuttavia, una nuova oscura minaccia si fa strada con
le fattezze di un terzo uomo: qualcuno che dispone di un potere
più grande di quello di entrambi capace di soggiogare
il mondo e di causare la distruzione totale.
