Once upon a time there were two children in France, Azur and Asmar, one blond with blue eyes, the other with dark skin and black eyes. Asmar's mother, Azur's nurse, raises them as brothers until one day they are brutally separated by Azur's father who sends his son away from home to study and drives Asmar and his mother away, forcing them to return to their country. After many years the two boys will find themselves side by side in search of the mythical Fairy of the Djinns, the fairy of the tales of when they were children, who will lead them back to being brothers ....
