BASIL THE INVESTIGATOPE

The story of "Basil the Detective" is set in London and begins with the kidnapping of a toymaker by Vampirello, a bat who works for the evil Professor Rattigan. Olivia, the toymaker's daughter, helped by Topson, goes to investigator Basil to ask him for help. Basil, who has always been Ratigan's enemy, decides to find out where the toymaker is. And he succeeds by following in the footsteps of Vampirello, thanks also to the nose of his faithful dog Hugo. Professor Rattigan wants to use the toymaker to have a robot built like the Queen of Mice: so he himself, marrying her, will become ruler of the kingdom. The plan is to kidnap the queen and have her devoured by the cat Lucrezia. But Rattigan has come to terms without Basil: after a thousand ups and downs, including the kidnapping of Olivia and an escape in a hot air balloon, the investigator and Topson manage to prevent the evil plan and to make the professor fall from Big Ben.
