The film begins with an animated film set in the land of fairy tales where Princess Giselle lives, who is about to marry the handsome Prince Edward. To thwart the plans of the young couple thinks Edward's stepmother, who disguised as an evil witch with a ruse, sends Giselle to the real world, that is the New York of our time. From this moment the animated film gives way to real actors. Giselle, lost and naive in that world so different from hers, meets the well-known lawyer Robert who comes to her aid and offers her accommodation at his home. Robert is enchanted and fascinated by that strange girl, so devoid of malice and full of good feelings towards all the people she meets. Meanwhile, in the world of fairy tales, Prince Edward together with the squirrel Pip, finds the opening that leads to the world of reality and catapults himself in search of his beloved Giselle. The two are also followed by Nathaniel, the minion of stepmother Narissa in order to put a spoke in the wheels of Edward in his mad search. He is provided with a good supply of poison apples in order to eliminate Giselle. After various adventures, Prince Edward finds Giselle and tries to convince her to return to the world of fairy tales to get married, but the young girl has changed and realizes that she feels the feeling of true love towards Robert.
