In "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" the narrator explains that Snow White, upon the death of her father, remained in the castle with her evil and beautiful stepmother who makes her work as a scullery maid because she is envious of her beauty. The queen, every day, asks her magic mirror who the most beautiful woman in the kingdom is. When she stops being reassured by her mirror - by her telling her that Snow White is now more beautiful than her - the woman, enraged, orders a hunter to take her stepdaughter into the woods and kill her. But the hunter, feeling pity, sets the girl free and she finds refuge in a small house inhabited by seven dwarf miners. The dwarfs host her and Snow White makes herself useful by cleaning and cooking. Her stepmother, however, thanks to her mirror, discovers that the girl is still alive, so she takes on the appearance of an old lady and makes her eat a poisoned apple. Snow White falls into a sleep similar to her death, only the kiss of a man in love with her can awaken her. The dwarves chase the queen who falls down a cliff. Snow White is placed in a glass coffin. A prince who has loved her for a long time sees her and kisses her. The spell is defeated.
