Cartoons on the Bay arrives in Salerno

280 programs from 36 countries

From 19 to 22 April 2007, Cartoons on the Bay is back, the International Festival of Television Animation. The traditional showcase of international animation, now in its eleventh edition, expands, leaving the 'historic' seat in Positano and moving to the wider setting of Salerno.

The greater accessibility of a city from many parts indicated as one of the liveliest in youth culture, the best accommodation and the possibility of using different locations offer the event new development opportunities, to meet the growing interest shown by sector operators and by the general public.

The assignment of the Pulcinella Awards - to which this year the one for the best musical soundtrack is added - will be enriched by a full program of special events, previews of feature films, conferences, meetings with Italian authors, directors, producers and TV managers and foreigners, according to the tradition of the Festival promoted by Rai and produced by Rai Trade in association with Rai Fiction.

280 programs were selected this year from 36 countries, confirming the international vocation of the event. As usual, membership from the United States and Europe is high, but the strong participation from Latin America and the Far East is also validated. The new entries from Iceland, Georgia and Macedonia stand out among others. The remaining programs offer almost total coverage of the remaining continents, guaranteeing a complete overview of world production in 2006.
