15.00: film! SILLY SYMPHONY (USA, 1929-1939, distribution: Buena Vista International - Cineteca del Friuli - 16 mm - vo). Originally intended as a series free from limitations, the Symphonies were a platform for new experiments and narrative forms. Disney and collaborators had created a system that allowed them to synchronize sound and drawings with absolute precision. And the results were astounding, so much so that the vision after seventy years leaves one puzzled by the relevance and artistic value of the shorts. The tone is defined since the first cartoon of the series, The Skeleton Dance: a macabre nocturnal fantasy vibrant with energy. The subsequent symphonies continued along this line, each creating a world of fantasy, mystery and delight. We present seven symphonies out of over eighty produced.

Age: from 6 years upwards. Curated by Alice Bescapè.
