6th Edition of the International Spirit of Wine Competition 2005

The Wine Tourism Movement - Friuli Venezia Giulia, chaired by Elda Felluga, also announced for the year 2005 the International Wine Spirit Competition, artistic competition dedicated to young cartoonists. Launched on May 29, 2005, on the occasion of the great Cantine Aperte festival, Spirito di Vino attracts the attention of hundreds of artists who every year take up the challenge of trying their hand at the theme of wine combined with art. The international scope of the competition has meant that in past editions works from China, Canada, Russia, Poland and Israel arrived. The creations, always original, fun and irreverent, are the result of the genius and expressiveness of young people between 18 and 35, who have until 29 August 2005 to send their works to the MTV headquarters or directly online through the website www.mtvfriulivg.it. "Spirito di Vino is an initiative to which our delegation is particularly linked, as it is aimed at the world of young people, who show every year a growing interest in the world of wine - says Elda Felluga - Our goal is to create an opportunity to meet and dialogue, a place open to the exchange of opinions, where it is possible to express oneself freely. We also have many initiatives in store that will unfold during the year, which are aimed at enhancing education to "see what you drink", a privileged motto of MTV, and which sees young people as protagonists ". Always a supporter of the message that drinking well means tasting excellent quality wine in moderation, the Wine Tourism Movement - Friuli Venezia Giulia through "Spirito di Vino" promotes this communication by addressing young people through young people: to budding cartoonists, but emerging and of proven talent, the task of spreading this idea, with irony.
The competition is conducted in collaboration with the European Institute of Design in Milan, with the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the University and the Municipality of Udine, and the jury, chaired by Giorgio Forattini, is made up of cartoonists Emilio Giannelli , Alfio Krancic and Valerio Marini, by the art director of Corriere della Sera Gianluigi Colin, by the editorial director of TCI Michele D'Innella, by journalists Franz Botr , Carlo Cambi, Paolo Marchi and by the scientific director of the IED Aldo Colonetti. The personalities of the world of culture and journalism will choose thirty finalists from the hundreds of works received by the Movimento Turismo del Vino - Friuli Venezia Giulia, whose creations will be exhibited in a fun exhibition with free entry on the occasion of the great Friuli Doc food and wine festival, on 17 September in Udine. The exhibition of the thirty works will constitute one of the most popular events in the frame of the Friulian event, which every year is the destination of thousands of visitors, interested in discovering and getting to know more deeply the best that Friuli Venezia Giulia produces in the field of wines and typical products.
The award ceremony of the competition is scheduled for Saturday 17 September 2005 and the thirty finalists will participate, hosted during the weekend in Friuli Venezia Giulia, to give them the opportunity to get to know this land up close, which the Wine Tourism Movement is helping to enhance . Three winners will be announced among them, chosen by the jury that will be in Udine in full. As a prize they will receive a selection of the best Friulian wines. The cartoons will then be collected in the now famous Spirito di Vino Calendar, which will also contain unpublished works by Forattini, Giannelli, Krancic and Marini and which each year receives applause and approval from the public.
