A new fair event dedicated to comics, games, animation. In Mantua, from 26 to 28 May 2006, the debut of a new and ambitious convention, with an unprecedented program of meetings that will see presentations and absolute previews of Italian and American comics.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the first edition of Mantova Comics & Games, a new fair event dedicated to comics, games and animation that will be held in the city of Mantua from Friday 26th to Sunday 29th May 2006.

We created Mantova Comics & Games to meet the requests of publishers, professionals and, above all, readers to have new and modern meeting spaces. To create meeting places, to give life to an event that can satisfy the needs of a vast and composite audience. A young event, dedicated to young people, which aims to become a fixed appointment in the calendar of cultural and recreational events both in the city of Mantua and on the national scene.

Mantua is an ideal city for a comic fair. Located in Lombardy, on the border with Emilia Romagna, it is a few kilometers from important "squares" such as Bologna, Modena, Brescia, Verona, Reggio Emilia, Bergamo and Parma. Mantua is a city of art: it is the city of the Gonzagas, the Casa del Mantenga, the Palazzo della Ragione, the Palazzo Ducale, the Palazzo Te. Mantua is also home to the famous Literature Festival, one of the cultural events of the year at a national level.

Lastly, Mantua is also the PalaBAM, the brand new sports palace inaugurated in October 2005 and located just three kilometers from the city center. The Palabam, inserted in the Favorita complex (within a multifunctional area that includes commercial activities such as a hypermarket, a cinema multiplex, hotels, restaurants and 5.000 free parking spaces) is a very modern building equipped with all comforts ( toilets, restaurant, meeting rooms, etc.) and boasts a net internal surface area of ​​12.000 square meters. The ideal place to host a rich, crowded, functional and extremely organized event down to the smallest detail.

Mantova Comics & Games 2006 makes available to publishers a functional area of ​​over 900 square meters inside the Palabam, the brand new sports hall in Mantua: an unrepeatable opportunity to meet readers and present all your editorial news to the public. . To all those who, on the other hand, wish to exhibit and trade, Mantova Comics & Games 2006 offers numerous set-up solutions within a large dedicated space of over 1500 square meters. Mantova Comics & Games 2006 will be an unmissable happening for those who are passionate about Card, Role and Miniature Games. The rich program boasts highly competitive events and stages of the national circuits of Magic, Warhammer, D&D Minautures and One Piece that will come to life within a dedicated Games area of ​​over 500 square meters. But in Mantua, 360-degree fun is celebrated! The organization has in fact arranged inside the PalaBAM places for the projections of unpublished animation previews and material in the original language subtitled.

For its first edition, Mantova Comics & Games has secured the presence of the following authors of international importance: Sergio Bonelli, Jim Lee, Milo Manara, Leo Ortolani, Gabriele Dell'Otto, Brian Azzarello, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Jill Thompson and Will Dennis . For the image of Mantova Comics & Games 2006 we needed the right designer. We wanted an artist able to accurately capture our ideas relating to a spectacular image and who, at the same time, take into account the necessary references to the city of Mantua and its immense cultural and artistic heritage. The choice was simple: Gabriele Dell'Otto, fantastic Roman author, one of the stars of American comics, and very special guest of the event. Gabriele accepted and with him he decided in favor of a steampunk version by Tazio Nuvolari, famous motor racing driver, Mantovano DOC, standard-bearer of unscrupulousness and speed. The result - in our humble opinion, simply spectacular! - is the perfect image to comment on the 2006 Mantua Comics & Games slogan: high speed!
