Monday 17 May Elisabetta Levorato, president of de Mas & Partners, a company that has been working in Lombardy for thirty years and is part of the CartoonLombardia and Cartoon Italia association, will receive the `` Stefano Gay Tach '' Award from the Municipality of Rome, for the television series Street Football .
Established in 2004 in memory of the child who in 1982, upon leaving the Synagogue of Rome, was the victim of a grenade from a Palestinian terrorist commando, the Prize is entirely dedicated to childhood and to the values of equality, dialogue and coexistence. And the judges and selectors of the products competing in the various sections are all children, including short stories, audiovisuals and animated films for children. This year Street Football wins the prize for the animated film section, confirming the importance of the values transmitted by the television series and the immediacy with which they reach children: playfulness, friendship, solidarity, acceptance of the other.
After the 2007 Grillo award, for the second time the serial of de Mas is awarded by a jury of children, a sign of a perfect calibration of the target. The result of a good collaboration with the French co-producers of T l Images Kids, which has continued since 2004, thanks to Rai Fiction Cartoon which believed in and invested in the project, Street Football has now reached its third series. The broadcast on Rai 2 will coincide this year with the World Cup.
The concept is Italian, freely based on the novel by Stefano Benni La Compagnia dei Celestini , and tells the story of a group of kids who play street football, a game similar to football with few structured rules on the urban environment, and initially badly seen by the citizens and authorities of Banessa, the city where it all begins. Little by little the Celestini team convinces adults of the goodness of their game, and with the support of adults begins its adventure of the street football world cup.
A roundabout of teams from every country in the world and then a continuous journey to different places, where the Celestini away make friends with their opponents. A single game, in its simple and strong rules, binds young people of different colors, languages and habits, finding in the young audience, represented today by the jury of the Gay Tach Award, a firm sharing of this model of life.
