Exhibition "IL BELVEDERE"

Comics and illustrations by Lorenzo Mattotti

In Mirano (Venice), the Belvedere park is a place of enchantment capable of fascinating artists.
Its avenues, the ancient trees, the Muson river that crosses it, the aristocratic villas, the meadows and the mills, have been fixed on the canvas by countless painters, more or less famous.
Now even a master of illustration and comics like Lorenzo Mattotti has been enchanted by the views of the Belvedere to the point of dedicating twelve images full of colors and suggestions to him. In them Mattotti not only reproduces some particularly scenographic environments of the park, but above all he captures their essence, captures the atmosphere, identifies the silences, theExhibition by Lorenzo Mattotti perfumes and secret shades; perceives unexpected perspectives, caresses the statues that stare at the sky, perhaps waiting for a light capable of animating them, dwells on the reflections of the water and on the stirring of the branches of the magnolias which, thanks to its palette, seem to evoke the invisible flow of human feelings.
