The exhibition "Sergio Toppi. The sign of History" created on the occasion of the third edition of Bilbolbul. International comics festival, stops at the Cloister of Voltorre.

The exhibition will present to the public about two hundred works, including comics and illustrations, taken from the vast production of the author who now has more than forty years of work: from the important collaborations with Sergio Bonelli for the series "A man, an adventure", to revolutionary stories gradually appeared on "Linus", "Alter Alter", "Corto Maltese", "L'Eternauta", "Comic Art", to the most recent works.
The exhibition aims to bring out and get to know some fundamental nuclei of the artist's poetics, as a designer and as a complete author. This will give ample space to his formal revolution, which has modified the compositional grammar of the comic strip, and to two major thematic strands that will guide visitors along the path: the relationship between History and Fantastic and the theme of conflict, be it between men, with nature, with the presence of the sacred.

The exhibition is accompanied by the publication Sergio Toppi. The sign of History book / catalog published by Black Velvet.
