Disney is abandoning production of the animated film Gigantic , the adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk, according to Deadline.com. The project, slated for a Thanksgiving 2020 release date, was directed by Meg LeFauve who wrote Inside Out e Arlo's journey , and Nathan Greno ( Rapunzel, The Robinsons). In this modern version of the classic fairy tale we find the variant of Jack who meets a gigantic child, predisposed to be a musical with the songs of Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez ( Frozen ). According to some sources, production has been suspended due to creative problems.

Ed Catmull, president of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios said "When we start a project it is impossible to know how the creative process will develop and, sometimes, it doesn't matter how much we love an idea or how much we care, because we find that it doesn't work. With Gigantic, we've come to this point, and while it's a tough decision, we're focusing our energies on another project set for Thanksgiving 2020. "

By that date, Disney Animation is said to be turning on another animated film project. The next Disney movie will be Wreck-It Ralph 2 (scheduled for November 21, 2018) e Frozen 2 (scheduled for November 27, 2019). The most imminent release is that of Frozen the adventures of Olaf, with the Pixar advance Coco.
