The nominations have been announced for the 69th anniversary of the Emmy Awards, presented by the Academy of Arts and Television Sciences.
In the animation genre category, four of the five cartoons were also nominated in 2015 and 2016: Archer, Bob's Burgers, The Simpsons e South Park. The only new competitor in the category is the special Sofia the princess and "Elena of Avalor".
The animation category this year will present few other surprises, with two candidates for the first time: Teen Titans Go! Warner Bros. Animation and the miniseries produced by Marvel Animation and Passion Animation Studios' Rocket & Groot. 3 other cartoons who have received the previous applications join: Adventure Time, Disney Mickey Mouse e Steven Universe.

Star Wars Rebels Lucasfilm Animation, which airs on Disney XD, scored a nomination in the category of children's programs, while all other candidates were live-action dilm projects.
