The start date of the 31st Cinekid Festival is not far off, since it will start on Wednesday 18th October. For two weeks during the autumn festival, the largest film, television and multimedia event for children aged 3 to 14, to be held in Amsterdam and 35 other Dutch cities, it will invite over 60.000 young people and their parents to enjoy of a wide range of programs and cartoons. In addition to the screenings, the festival will host MediaLab's "digital playground" with the latest VR games, installations and workshops.
This year, it will be up to Next Door Spy the animation film in 2D graphics of the studio Copenhagen Mumbai (The Great Bear, Beyond Beyond). Directed by Karla Van Bengtson (Tigers and Tattoos), the spy adventure for children fits perfectly into the corner of Cinekids 2017's "noir" film, one of the themes of the year along with modern fairy tales and scary films.
Next Door Spy tells the story of Agathe Christine
at the age of ten, he calls himself AC to abbreviate the name. AC is a lonely girl who loves mysterious cases. He set up a small detective agency in the basement of the building. The first mystery that AC will have to solve will seem very simple, but for this reason AC will find herself trapped in a much more complex situation than she could have imagined.

The film was screened during the Junior Co-Production Market at Cinekid Professional in October last year. The market invites international media producers to travel to Amsterdam to present their projects to potential buyers and co-producers. The participating projects will be selected by Cinekid.
