Grendizer. The story of a myth
Why from Grendizer to Mazinger? Many know by now, also thanks to the many books already written and the avalanche of forums dedicated to Ufo Robot Grendizer (real name of Grendizer), that in reality it is the conclusion of the Mazinsaga which began with Mazinga Z in 1972 and continued with Il Grande Mazinga 1974. , conceived by Nagai Kiyoshi better known by his stage name Go Nagai. Grendizer landed in Italy in the now distant 1978, strangely known in those years with the name of Atlas Ufo Robot. The success of this broadcast was unimaginable, so much so that it led first Rai, then the private broadcasters, to buy all sorts of Robotic cardboard produced. Rai purchased during and immediately after the broadcasting of Ufo Robot, Captain Harlock, Mazinga Z, Captain Futuro before ceasing the broadcasts due to the controversy that broke out regarding the alleged violence unleashed in the children of those years. All this meant that Mazinger arrived after Grendizer making us completely lose the thread of the story as it was actually conceived by Toei Animation in the land of the rising sun. All the events between 1978 and 1980 concerning Atlas Ufo Robot, referring exclusively to historical documents, audio, video and paper, to the exclusive interviews of the characters who created the myth.
