The first episode introduces the plot that immediately becomes interesting, terrible aliens are willing to subjugate the human race by invading the earth. Their name is Muge Zorbas and they are equipped with advanced military technology. The ground forces are in dire straits, but they can count on promising young people from the Australian space academy. In the battle, a young recruit named Shinobu Fujiwara emerges who arouses the interest of the platoon leader, despite himself the boy discovers the escape of his superior. The attempt to stop him will be rewarded in Japan, granting him greater attention from the world government.
In the second episode, Shinobu will be increased his responsibilities, denoting his fighting ability is entrusted with one of the best tools available on earth: the Eagle Fighter aircraft. After a period of intense study of his new battle tool, his superiors decide to entrust him with the task of monitoring alien activity in the United States. The boy lets himself be taken by his instinct as a warrior in contravention of the imposed orders, but thanks to his cunning he manages to bring damage to the enemy army.
The third episode introduces a twist in the narrative arc, Shapiro put on the run previously is captured by the Muge. In order to save his life, the man betrays his race and proposes himself as a collaborator by revealing important details about the land warfare operations. Shinobu and Sara, Shapiro's girlfriend, must lead a mission where they will realize their ex-colleague's turnaround. The Nazca base is in serious danger after the traitor's suggestions but Sara, having felt called into question in the staff, manages to activate the "aggressive beast" mode of her vehicle and solves a very complicated situation. But it will turn out to be only half successful.
Masato Shikibu, Ryo Shiba, Sara Yuki and Shinobu Fujiwara

In the following episodes they join the team Masato Shikibu and later Ryo, both immediately get in tune with the team giving them support. The war is now becoming more and more bloody but the young recruits don't give up. At the crucial moment they will discover the secret and winning weapon of their robots, they have the chance to unite and generate the great Dancougar, an invincible robot giant who will give a lot of trouble to the empire of Muge Zorbados. Dancouga is a good level anime with a more complex and structured plot than the classic mecha anime. The characterization of the characters is good but not particularly exciting, as are the drawings in some passages where errors of realization are denoted. While robots, in all their forms including Dancouga, are drawn more scrupulously. Overall it is one of the best anime of its kind also counting the period of realization.
