ED, EDD & EDDY

From May 5th the awaited 4th season of ED EDD & EDDY arrives on the "cartoon network". Thanks to the creativity of Danny Antonucci, cartoonist of Cartoon Network Studios who boasts names such as MTV and Hanna and Barbera Studios in his curriculum, the cartoon is now a real cult.
Focusing on the problems of adolescents from all over the world, Antonucci, with great irony and originality, continues to tell the life of Ed, Edd & Eddy, a funny band of boys with the classic symptoms of growth. They are three, they bear the same name, they live in the same place. "EDs" desperately want to feel part of something, but they still don't know exactly what.
The linear style, solid and full of colors, inspired by the cartoons of the 40s and 50s, is evident in the series. The author has in fact worked, during his 20 yearscareer, in close contact with legends such as Tex Avery. According to Antonucci, the overall effect of the drawing is more important than the details, especially if the audience is mainly children. Furthermore, the cartoonist is a big fan of freehand drawings, which is why the animation of the three protagonists tends to convey the idea of ​​"drawn by hand".

But who are "the EDs"? If there is hard work to do you can be sure that Ed will do it, but the thing that makes him happiest is playing with models and watching b-movies with monsters: it is from these films that Ed gets all its to know. Edd is smart, quiet and polite. Since committing a nasty foul during a game he can no longer follow gymnastics hours and has spent his class time studying in the library ever since.
Eddy is the unofficial leader of the gang, he always has a stunt ready. He is the clown of the class and is keen to reiterate it on every occasion. He loves listening to Barry White and Tom Jones records.
In the Halloween special, Ed sees one horror movie after another, until Edd and Eddy announce that they want to go in search of a magical place: Spook-E-Ville. This decision will give life to an unforgettable party for the trio who, for the occasion, gave free rein to their imagination. And in fact he disguises himself as Lothar the barbarian, Eddy as a zombie version of Elvis Presley, while Edd as ... virus.
The three set off, but Ed, influenced by the excessive number of horror films seen and by a severe attack of indigestion, is convinced that everyone he meets are supernatural creatures: the Kanker sisters in his mind turn into witches, Jimmy in alien, Nazz in jellyfish, Sarah in vampire, Rolf in ogre and Kevin becomes the headless horseman. Convinced that they are real monsters, Ed does not hesitate to attack them. The path to Spook-E-Ville actually takes them back to Eddy's house, where all the wretches who have met them await them with the intention of teaching them a lesson. The three boys go into hiding, but - unfortunately for them - they are discovered. In the special for San Valentino at school, the three kids discuss how to celebrate the fateful February 14th. Eddy sets up a booth of ... kisses in the school hallway. May Kanker tries to give his Valentine's card to the booby Ed ... with disastrous results. Sorry, Edd gives her one of his tickets and the trouble starts. The two Cupids, Jimmy and Sara, will make Edd fall in love with May and create chaos among the other Kankers and Ed and Eddy as well. Jimmy and Sara make sure everyone has love at first sight: Edd for May (again!), Kevin for Lee (weird!), Johnny for Nazz (weird!), Eddy for Plank (???) and And for a ... sandwich. Rolf is the only one who survives the love "massacre". To make the others come to his senses, he squeezes two lemons in his eyes and uses a broom and a bucket of water to stop the two Cupids. Edd feels so stupid for falling in love with a Kanker that he takes a week alone in detention. However, a note placed in his hat - when he was still in love with May - seems to sweeten his feelings for the girl.

They have the same name, but who are the "Eds"? If you still don't know, here's a refresher. And he's a shy guy who draws all his knowledge from b-movies and who suffers from a chronic lack of attention. Edd, on the other hand, is perpetually in love, but the girls he falls in love with now know him well: as a token of love, the boy sends them a pair of his socks ... Eddy is the leader of the group, he loves good music ( Tom Jones and Barry White his favorites) and behaves like a true exhibitionist. Usually the trio spends their days hanging around Peach Creek, often getting into some trouble looking for the Jawbreaker candies (they are called exactly that), but in the film something never seen before will happen ...

This time (let's get to the heart of the film), Eddy has really gone too far: one of his terrible jokes has made a big mess. Now the whole neighborhood gang is stalking him to teach him a good lesson. The only person who can save him and his two fellow adventures is his legendary, never seen before ... older brother. So the three Eds embark on an epic journey through uncharted territories in search of Eddy's brother, unaware that the angry kids of the neighborhood are on their trail to make him pay. Graphics with bright colors and more defined lines than the series, a fast narrative rhythm full of suspense and above all the humor that distinguishes the gags of the trio make the film a TV event not to be missed.
