HISTORY
It all begins with Ringo, one of the three protagonists, an elementary school girl passionate about fairy tales who goes to buy her favorite comic "Snow White", but this disappears from the newsagent's display right before her eyes. Maybe it's an illusion...

No, this is not an illusion. There is a great alarm in the world of fairy tales: everything is disappearing.
Snow White's castle is gone, Hansel and Gretel's candy house is gone, the mermaids are dying in the evaporating sea water and even the stars are disappearing from the sky.
The queen cannot allow the world of fairy tales to end forever and therefore instructs three magical animals, Sei, Dai and Ryoku to go to the world of humans and find the three princesses, who transforming themselves into Super Miracle Idols will be able to make people happy by singing. Only when they are joyful will the hearts of men emit the "notes of happiness" and these invisible notes will they allow the world of fairy tales to survive.

The three magic pets, who are a budgie (Sei), a dormouse (Dai) and a small dragon (Ryoku), are then sent to Earth to search for the three girls, who are actually the princesses Snow White, Cinderella and the Princess of the Luna, but how will they recognize them?
Thanks to the magical gems that will illuminate the chosen ones.

As the three magical creatures arrive in the world of humans, there is a great deal of confusion in the city as a concert will be held by Wish, a singer who is the idol of teenagers, all in love with her beautiful face and her voice. Not even Ringo is immune from a mad passion for him, so much so that he tries to enter the theater where the show is held anyway, even if he does not have a ticket. By chance she finds herself in a corridor with two other girls, whom she does not know and who discovers their names are Leila and Natsuki, but suddenly all three are illuminated by a colored light and see strange animals approaching: they are the magic pets.
They are the three "princesses" they are looking for, in fact they have identified the colored gems given to them by the Queen of the fairy tale world. The embarrassment of the girls is evident, as they do not understand what is happening, but in a fleeting appearance the Queen explains that the world of fairy tales is disappearing and that only they, who are actually Snow White, Cinderella and the Princess of the Moon, can save it.

The girls agree to make themselves useful to avoid the destruction of the world of fairy tales and thus discover that they can turn into charming and elegant teenagers and that they will have to give joy to people with the melodious voice of their song. A magic bracelet appears on their wrists, containing the different colored gems worn by the magic pets: pink for Ringo, blue for Leila and purple for Natsuki. Joining their hands, the girls begin to transform, first a scepter appears for each of them, then they find themselves transformed into beautiful teenagers with very glamorous clothing and hairstyle. The three princesses are on the deserted stage because Wish, the teen idol, has not yet appeared and the audience is roaring nervously.
Embarrassed, the three begin to sing (their scepter has magically changed into a microphone) and the spectators very much appreciate their performance, at the end of the song the applause bursts and, invisible to human eyes, yellow lights rise to the sky: they are the notes of happiness that hearts emit when they feel joy.
While the three magic pets are pleased to have found the princesses and realize that they are saving the fairytale world in that way, Wish appears on stage, thanking the three young debutants and asking them what the name of their group is. The very embarrassed Ringo, Leila and Natsuki babble about little princesses and at the end claim to be the "Lilpri" contraction of Little Princesses.
Thus were born the heroines who give the title to the cartoon.

When the stones of the bracelets on their wrists flash, it means that the Lil'Pri are about to return to their normal childlike guise and it happens just as they are on the scene next to their idol Wish, but they think about it Sei, Dai and Ryoku to resolve the situation. They turn off all the lights and drag the princesses away, so they can go back to being little girls. Each of them brings their magic pet home with them, also because without those bizarre talking animals, the transformation into Lil'Pri would not be possible, Ringo is paired with the parrot Sei, Leila keeps the dormouse Dai and Natsuki the strange little dragon with her. Ryoku.
Of course, the true identity of the Lil'Pri must remain a secret, just as no one must know that they can transform into a singing trio only thanks to magic.
After that meeting in the theater, the following day Ringo, Leila and Natsuki, who start school, discover that they are classmates and a deep friendship is born between them, since their destinies are now linked.

The fleeting appearance of this trio of singers left their mark on the audience and also on Wish. The curiosity around them grows and everyone wonders who they are, since from that day their performances take place in the most unexpected places, like in an elementary school, in front of a sweet shop, in a city park, but the mystery about the group is destined to continue.
Wish launches an appeal on TV so that the Lil'Pri show up at the opening of her next concert and of course Ringo, Leila and Natsuki do not let themselves be begged, so their fame increases.

In each episode the three princesses find themselves struggling with someone who is unhappy about some problem, from the child who gets lost in the mall, to the classmate who is sad because she is terrified of the dark and to make them happy, the girls turn into Lil ' Pri thus obtaining magical notes that help save the world of fairy tales.
They also get acquainted with a strange talking rabbit, Chris, who was also sent by the Fairytale Queen to help them on their mission. It will later be discovered that the rabbit is the charming singer Wish, who also comes from the world of fairy tales and is actually the Prince's son of the Queen. It was he who recovered the magical gems that allow the transformation of the Lil'pri, but now that he is on earth in moments when he feels particularly tired, he turns into a rabbit. Wish invites the singing trio several times to perform at her concerts and only in those moments will she be able to smile.

As the story continues, other characters from the world of fairy tales appear, such as Vivi, another magic pet that takes on the appearance of a cat and protects Wish, but also the Witch who tries to hinder the Lil'Pri.
In some episodes, the girls go to the Queen's world where they have to retrieve some magical clothing and finally manage to complete their mission and save the fairy tale world from destruction. Since then they will no longer be able to transform into the charming Lil'Pri.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CHARACTERS
Ringo, Leila and Natsuki are the three princesses of the fairy tales Snow White, Cinderella and the Princess of the Moon and it is easy to realize this for the different similarities with the real characters of the fairy tales.
All three are very passionate Wish fans and, once they discover that they are actually the three princesses, they confess that their fairy tale prince looks exactly like the singer.

Ringo, with red hair, has seven identical siblings who are named after the days of the week and all speak at the same time remembering very closely the dwarves. His parents, a close-knit couple, have a patisserie where they prepare delicious apple desserts that are the most sought after in the city.

Leila, the blonde, is a distracted child, often late and has a tendency to take off a shoe while walking or running. In her bedroom there are many objects reminiscent of Cinderella's tale, even a carriage / pumpkin-shaped photo holder. His father, who is Italian, has the bizarre name of Marco Peperoncino and works in a shoe factory, while his mother is Japanese.

Natsuki, with long black hair, belongs to a wealthy family and lives with her grandparents who sell precious fabrics to make kimonos, while her parents are abroad for work. She is a thoughtful and stubborn girl and her relationship with the magic pet, the dragon Ryoku, is not the easiest at first because they are both rather stubborn.

The charming Wish, who transforms into a rabbit when tired, can return to her human form thanks to a magical clock, which was given to him by the queen. The object is also capable of producing a hologram and signaling in the sky when a star reappears in the world of fairy tales. If he fails to complete his task, he will forever remain in the shoes of a normal rabbit, losing his ability to speak.

The magic pets who live with Ringo, Leila and Natsuki, in addition to helping them to improve their way of singing and dancing, sometimes turn out to be rather childish and prone to making jokes, even if unintentionally, becoming a source of trouble, as when they binge on all the delicious apple cakes they find in Ringo's parents' workshop and to repair the damage, they cook themselves disgusting substitutes that will infuriate all customers.
During the 51 episodes we also witness the falling in love with Sei, the parrot, who loses his head for the canary Ran.
Vivi is instead a gray cat who flies thanks to her ears and hates other magic pets, but loves Wish who tries to help in any way she can.
