In Italy it was published by the Panini publishing house Comics - Planet Manga, in the Top Manga series, divided into 48 stages published in 10 volumes. Produced by Animax and Madhouse, directed by Osamu Kobayashi, the animation series consists of 12 episodes, and premiered in Italy from 30 June 2008 on Cartoon Network. The anime was subsequently re-broadcast by the Sky Man-ga channel from September 27, 2011. This is the sequel to the famous animated series
Courtyards of the heart, Gokinjo Monogatari, and resumes the life of the characters after ten years, telling about them but also about the children they had and new collateral stories. The main character, Yukari, is a very beautiful and rather tall high school student from Seiei High School. In the first episode Yukari runs into a strange punk boy on the street who attracts his attention along with an ambiguous character that Yukari does not understand if he is male or female and who responds to the name of Isabella. Yukari gets scared and starts running away, but when he runs into Isabella he faints. When she wakes up she finds herself in a basement and around her there are the boy, who is called Arashi, Isabella and a sweet girl named Miwako. The three explain that they stopped her on the street because they want her to model for their collection of clothes. They are in fact students of the Yazawa art school.
Joji "George" Koizumi - Paradise Kiss ï ¿½ Ai Yazawa / Madhouse | Yukari initially refuses the proposal, thinking them a gang of madmen. In the second episode, Yukari is still struggling about what to do, whether or not to accept the proposal. After being contacted by the charming Joji Koizumi, a friend of Arashi and the others, she is dragged by a very famous hairdresser who gives her a splendid hairstyle and then is brought back to the atelier where the boys make her wear one of the dresses. The group of designers reveals that they are called Paradise Kiss, abbreviated to Parakiss. Yukari realizes that she has been hasty in judgments and decides to help the group by modeling for them. In the third episode, Yukari discovers that Hiroyuki Tokumori, her classmate with whom she has always been in love, was Miwako's childhood friend. The two were very close when they were children, even together with Arashi, but they haven't seen each other for a long time because since Miwako and Arashi got together, the boy prevented her from seeing Tokumori again. Miwako confesses that he suffers a lot for this, because he loved them both, but believes he can give up on Hiro for good when he thinks the boy is with Yukari. The latter, however, confesses that she is interested in Joji, who, after having confessed his love and kissed her, put her in an enormous state of confusion. The story will follow the events of the Parakiss group and Yukari, with all the related sentimental intertwining and events in the field of fashion. With her unique and inimitable style, Ai Yazawa has managed to create a product of great depth and complexity, inhabited by intense and multifaceted characters, with complicated and exciting inner lives. The series manages to entertain and excite, including dramas, comic scenes, moments of ambiguity, pathos and love. Paradise Kiss is an ironic and fun anime, with flashes of enormous intensity, which manages to tell stories of original lives against the backdrop of the colorful world of fashion, with its multifaceted environments and the creativity of its protagonists.
