Evelyn and the magic of a love dream

The Evelyn series and the magic of a dream of love (original title "Mahou no Yousei Persia") was broadcast for the first time in Italy on Rete 4 in 1985 and later on Italia 1, but did not have the hoped-for success. such as "The magical world of Gigi","Magic Emi"or"The enchanting CreamyThe cartoon is based on Taeko Aonuma's "Persia ga Suki" manga comic and was produced by Studio Pierrot for a total of 48 episodes lasting 24 minutes.The story has as its protagonist the little Evelyn Hayami (Persia Hayami in the manga), an 11-year-old Japanese girl with long blue hair, who since her birth has lived in Africa, as she was entrusted by her father, to her eldest friend Professor Muroi. Evelyn grows up in contact with the wild nature of her native country, which distinguishes her instinctive, stubborn and rebellious character. Her playmate is Simba, an African lion with whom she has been linked since her birth. One day Evelyn, together with Professor Muroi, embarks on a journey that will bring her back to her parents in Japan.

During the flight, the plane enters another dimension called "Dream of love", a place where the energies that allow the realization of men's dreams are born. Here she meets the Queen of Love's Dream and the three cute elves Dodo, Mila and Mino who explain their magical world to her. The world of men is that of "Dream of love" are linked by the thread of dreams, but now their world is in danger, because the lack of love that freezes the dreams of men, worsensorably freezing their world too.

The queen of Dream of Love thus entrusts Evelyn with the task of helping human beings, in order to awaken the energies of love. Evelyn receives a magical headband to use as a hair clip, which will give her magical powers and allow her to transform into the beautiful Fairy Princess. Every time he pronounces the magic words "Desire", "Magic of a dream of love" or "Magic of love, free the dreams of the heart", a magic wand will emerge from the crown, able to fulfill his wishes and help all people in need. Once she arrives in Japan she will not have to reveal this double identity to anyone, as men could become aware of the existence of Dream Of Love. Thanks to her magic, Evelyn teleports the lion Simba to Japan and transforms him by mistake, into a kind of cat, so that he can continue to keep her company and give hilarious scenes to the spectators.

During her adventures she will be accompanied by the nephews of Professor Muroi, the twins Roby and Ricky, very different from each other in behavior, as while the first is calm, kind and very intelligent, the second is stubborn, bossy and sporty. Hence a succession of adventures that will see Evelyn in the world of entertainment, have complications due to unexpected mutations, face bands of admirers for the twins Roby and Ricky, look after the little lion Simba struggling with an unrequited passion, come across a photograph that has arrived from the past, meet a mysterious biker and much more, like the arrival of a new elf called Bonbon.

One day Evelyn meets the pianist Kenji Sawaki, who however falls in love with his alter-ego the Princess Fairy, this is because years earlier he had fallen in love with the same Princess, who had asked him to write a song. Due to her unrequited love, the princess was caught in the ice and ravished by a deep sleep.

In order to save Love's Dream, Evelyn exchanges the Fairy Princess's medallion with that of pianist Kenji, before he leaves for America. With the arrival of spring and the melting of the ice, the fairy princess wakes up from her long sleep and can hug her beloved Kenji again, even if only for a moment as they belong to two different worlds. Meanwhile, a feeling of love arises between Evelyn and Roby, but the two must separate because Professor Muroi decides to return to Africa, together with his grandchildren
