The Strawberry Shortcake cartoons (original title Strawberry Shortcake) are broadcast on Italy 1 on Saturdays at 8,20 and are aimed at an audience of preschoolers. The series produced by DIC Entertainment consists of 20 episodes lasting 20 minutes each. 
The cartoon of Strawberry Shortcake is taken from the illustrations by Muriel Fahrion that starting from 1977 were inserted in the classic greeting cards. Given the commercial success, the rights for the production of scented dolls and other gadgets relating to this character, such as video games, sticker albums, were purchased and finally we came to the creation of various animated series.
Strawberry Shortcake is a good and optimistic little girl who lives in the village of Strawberryland, a very special place with its lush green meadows full of enchanting and greedy red strawberries of all sizes and all shapes. Strawberry Shortcake is characterized by red hair and a pink hat and loves being with her friends with whom she has a thousand adventures.
One of these is Mirtillino, a little girl who loves reading and fantasy and this leads her to use a certain emphasis in her sentences, besides she is a great naughty and lives in a house in the shape of a Blueberry. Pandolce is the queen of decorated cakes. She loves making cakes and decorating them in a creative and imaginative way. Arancina, on the other hand, is a little girl who loves nature and gives solidarity and help to friends in need. He lives in a house in the shape of an orange tree. Lino is a child who loves to skate and go on the skateboard is a very good friend of Strawberry Shortcake and with her he will be the protagonist of many adventures. Zenzerella is the best cook in the world and she loves cooking cookies, in fact she lives in a country made of cookies. He invented a great machine for making exquisite cookies. Sorbet comes from the cold lands of Niceland, a place full of hills made of ice cream and lives in an ice cream cone-shaped house. Contrary to the apparza, the house inside is surprisingly warm, thanks to a nice always-on fireplace and woolen blankets. Strawberry Shortcake is also friends with a beautiful pony named Honey Pie Pony which is in fact honey colored.
In one episode Honey Pie Pony injures her leg and is forced to stay in bed instead of participating in the great adventure she was anxiously awaiting. To calm the sick, grumpy and impatient, Strawberry Shortcake and her friends gather around her bed to tell her stories and sing her songs to cheer her up and make her feel better. In the end, a badly started day becomes truly special. In another episode we find Fragolina Dolcecuore who wants to organize a beautiful party for the birthday of her sister Melina.
To organize a perfect party Strawberry searches for everything you need, discovering many imaginative and fun places, such as Cookie Corner, where the extraordinary machine for making sweets and biscuits lives. In the episode "Spring for Strawberry" in Strawberryland, spring has arrived, but it's still cold, an icy wind blows and the ground is frozen. It seems that spring has no intention of coming. Thus, Fragolina Dolcecuore and her friends Arancina and Zenzerella set out in search of Spring, a girl who this year doesn't really want to work. Strawberry will have to convince Primavera that everyone needs her and that when you do it all together, any job can be fun.
