THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS

Starting from Wednesday 14 June on Rai Due from Monday to Friday at 8,15 the cartoon series of The Last of the Mohicans is broadcast, based on the famous novel by Fenimore Cooper. Co-produced by RAI Fiction and distributed by Mondo TV, the series consists of 26 episodes each lasting 25 minutes. In April it is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 16,05 and 20,05 on Rai Gulp.

It is the story of the white Indian Hawkeye and his friends Uncas and Grosso Serpente, the last of the Mohican warrior lineage. Hawkeye was raised from an early age by the Mohican Indians, as a tribe of Mingo killed his parents, therefore he took on their culture and lifestyle, but in him there is always a sort of inner conflict that leads to being lonely and introverted. The story is set in North America in the early 1800s when a caravan of English settlers is attacked by the Hurons on their way to Fort Edward. The intervention of Hawkeye, Uncas and Big Serpent allows the settlers to flee the Indians from the first assault and to rescue Colonel Munro's daughters, Cora and Alice who continue their journey along the Hudson River. Later the women are escorted by Magua, an Indian guide commissioned by Colonel Munro to find safe passage to Fort Henry. Unfortunately Magua turns out to be a traitor, as he is the leader of the ferocious Hurons and ambushes the soldiers. Also this time the intervention of Hawkeye, Uncas and Grosso Serpente is providential, forcing the Indians of Magua to flee. The battle is not over and the group consisting of Hawkeye, Uncas, and Big Serpent, Cora and Alice try to escape from the second assault, heading with the canoes along the river, then they rush the boats into the falls in order to be believed. dead from Magua. On their way through the forest to Fort Henry, they meet David Gamut, a wacky scientist looking for rare insects. Due to his naivety, the scientist will involuntarily report their presence to the Hurons, which will force our heroes into a hard firefight. The group takes refuge in a cave hidden by a waterfall, but soon they will have to abandon it as they run out of ammo. Hawkeye discovers a crack in the cave that turns out to be a precious escape passage, which however sees them forced to dive into the waterfall. Only Hawkeye and the two Mohicans face the dangerous leap, while the women and the scientist, being injured, are forced to wait to be released. Magua thus captures Cora and Alice, orders Gamut to be killed and tries to verify the death of the three men who dived into the waterfall, but the arrival of a bear forces his envoys to flee. in the meantime Hawkeye and his friends prepare to attack the camp to free the women, but after a violent battle they discover that Magua has taken them away. After a series of adventures and chases, the girls are freed and Magua flees. Back in the cave, they meet the escaped Gamut who has become friends with the Nootka bear. During their journey through the forest, the group will also encounter a tame wolf they will call Yaku, who leads them to a group of evil hunters who are holding Little Dagger, an Indian child, hostage. After a series of adventures, they manage to free him and the group will also enrich himself with his presence. Meanwhile at Fort Henry, Colonel Munro sends Duncan Heyward to look for the girls, but they still don't suspect Magua's betrayal. The group of soldiers finds Little Dagger which they believe is a Huron. Duncan meets Magua who invites him to follow him to join the girls; naturally it is an ambush that is foiled by Hawkeye and the two Mohicans, who had set out on the trail of Little Dagger, warned by Yaku. The group of soldiers then reaches Fort Henry and Colonel Munro, but they are attacked by the French army allied with the Hurons ...
