The Dragon Prince (The Dragon Prince in the American original) is a fantasy animated series created for Netflix by Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond and produced by Wonderstorm. The first season premiered on September 14, 2018. A second season was streamed on February 15, 2019, while the third season is in the works, along with the development of the video game of the same name.

The series is set in a fantasy world on the continent of Xadia, full of magic derived from six primary elements: the Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the Earth, the Sky and the Ocean. However, humans - who cannot use primal magic - have discovered the use of dark magic, which is fueled by the life essence of animals and magical creatures. This led to humans being hunted by the dragons and elves of Xadia to the other end of the continent, where they founded the five human kingdoms. The breach, the border between the two halves of the continent, was guarded by Thunder, the king of dragons.

Dfter humans have killed the dragon king and his egg, war is upon us. As a result the elves attempt to assassinate the human king Harrow and his heir, the young prince Ezran, in retaliation for the destruction of the egg. One of the elves, young Rayla, along with Ezran and his old half-brother Callum, discover that the dragon king's egg was not destroyed, but stolen by the wizard Viren, King Harrow's advisor. Together they work to return the egg to the dragons to prevent war between humans and elves. But Viren, who wants war, takes power after the king's death in an assassination attempt, and sends his children Claudia and Soren to recover the egg at all costs.
