Dino Kid, Wolf and Owl – The Longest Night

The final illustration unites three protagonists from 99 Nights in the Forest: Dino Kid runs in the foreground, simultaneously pursued by Wolf and Owl. It's a choral and dynamic scene that represents the climax of the adventure: the longest night, the one in which all the creatures of the forest are unleashed. The twisted trees frame them and seem to close in on the characters, as if trying to prevent their escape. Dino Kid's expression, his body leaning forward, and the movement of his legs convey tension and fear, while Wolf and Owl embody the primal forces of darkness.

How to color the drawing:

This is the richest and most complex design, so you can enjoy a wide range of colors.
For Dino Kid, use the already established colors (lime green for the hood, light blue or orange for the clothes, pale skin). To make the atmosphere more dramatic, add bluish shadows to the arms and legs.
Wolf should be dark and metallic: dark grey and black tones, with bright red eyes.
Owl, behind them, can have light gray feathers with blue shades and golden yellow eyes.
The trees may be brown but tinged with greenish or purple reflections, as if they were alive.
The ideal background is a deep midnight blue, with a gradient that lightens towards the center to create a diffused moonlight effect.
For digital coloring, you can add a subtle “glow” around the characters to make them pop out of the darkness.
If you use traditional techniques, try soft pastels for the shadows and markers for the brighter parts.
The key to this scene is movement: blend in different directions (horizontal for running, diagonal for light) and add some white strokes to simulate the wind blowing through the forest.
The result will be a powerful, dramatic composition perfectly faithful to the spirit of 99 Nights in the Forest.
