Palworld is a game that has sparked immense interest online, blending survival dynamics with action game mechanics, in a clear homage to the world of Pokemon. This title has achieved extraordinary success, selling 4 million copies in just three days and surpassing 1.2 million active players on Steam.

Palworld is a mix between a survival game and an action game, set in a vibrant open-world environment. Players must capture and train strange creatures to make them stronger and defeat cunning opponents. Unlike Pokemon, Palworld allows for a harsher relationship with these creatures, even going so far as butchering them for meat. Another innovation is the use of firearms, an option not present in Nintendo games.

Palworld is not just a Pokemon clone; it offers greater complexity and realism, typical of modern titles. This includes slower movement when carrying many items and a construction mode based on resource gathering. The game promises to take the genre to a more mature level, suitable for an audience seeking more action and freedom of movement.

In the Palworld video game, characters represent the people and various individuals that players can encounter during their journey. Here is an overview of the types of characters found in the game:

The Player
At the start of the game, players can customize their character by choosing from various hairstyles, face shapes, skin tones, and eyes, as well as sliders to adjust body shape and voice options. Once created, the character's physical appearance cannot be changed, although a feature may be introduced in a future update to allow such changes. Players can form Guilds while exploring the Palpagos Islands and also have the option to name their Pals, limited to 24 characters.

NPCs
NPCs are located throughout the Palpagos archipelago. They can be found next to campfires or in villages, but there are also soldiers and merchants roaming in certain areas.

Survivors
Depending on the starting point of the adventure, players may encounter a person who will provide basic advice on the world of Palworld and give a small amount of materials after talking to them. Attacking a survivor will cause PIDF soldiers to suddenly appear and attempt to take down the player.

Merchants
These characters can be interacted with to buy and sell items or Pals.

Islanders and Settlers
Some locals can be found scattered across the Palpagos Islands. These NPCs generally only offer dialogue, but occasionally some may give items to the player for talking to them.

Faction Members
Some people are members of a group or faction and, depending on their motivations and your actions, they can be passive until provoked or always hostile to any player who approaches. They can also participate in raids against bases.

Other Palworld Inhabitants
Surprisingly, it is possible to capture humans in Palworld, just as you would with regular Pals, although the game generally considers the act taboo. Human characters only know the Punch skill, have Handiwork 1, and cannot be used in the Breeding Farm. They cannot use their weapons or interact the way you do with other Pals.

Capturing a Wandering Merchant, a Pal Merchant, or a Black Marketeer and assigning them to your base work group will allow you to access their shops from your base. Faction leaders cannot be captured without the use of glitches.
