Following the rebellion of the victims of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, CatNap established himself within Playcare until the Player's return in 2005. With this return, CatNap was tasked with locating and defeating the Player, recruiting a number of others in the process monstrous experiments in Playcare. In the end, CatNap fails to complete his goal; and during the final moments of Chapter 3, The Prototype catches up with CatNap and kills him before kidnapping his lifeless body.
Appearance
CatNap's monstrous form resembles a feline creature wrapped in purple fur. Her eyes feature black pupils surrounded by white irises and a cat-like nose. The creature's mouth can gape wide, devoid of discernible teeth, forming an abyss-like void. The monstrous paws have four toes, each armed with sharp black claws, and the elongated limbs appear loosely stitched at the joints. The disproportionately small and emaciated torso exposes the rib cage and pelvic bone beneath the skin. Around his neck, runs a thin melanoid black zipper, similar to a matte yellow crescent moon-shaped pendant.
In its hostile form, CatNap takes on a more disturbing presence, with a complex, sickly gray complexion. This skeletal version of him shows a significant increase in his skeletal features. His legs resemble mere bare bones, devoid of any appearance of flesh or fur. The paws, in particular, are completely skeletal with elongated bone-like toes. The most dramatic part of the transformation can be seen in his mouth, which has lengthened alarmingly, exceeding the length of his torso. His torso, on the other hand, bears an unexpected resemblance to a stegosaurus, with crests and plates adorning his back. The moon charm that was once part of CatNap has also undergone a change, now taking on a silver-like appearance.
CatNap's toy form is an anthropomorphic cat with purple fur, black eyes, triangular ears, a black nose, and a very long tail. Its paws are a darker shade of purple, similarly to the insides of its ears. Like the other Smiling Critters, CatNap is depicted with a wide, toothless grin with a small gray air tube inserted into it. His torso has a zipper line running along that entire segment of his body, with the zipper sporting a yellow crescent moon pendant.
CatNap's personality, history, and abilities make him a complex and fascinating character within the Poppy Playtime universe, contributing significantly to the narrative and atmosphere of the game.
