Doraemon: The Adventures of Nobita and the Five Explorers is a 2014 Japanese anime film, remake of the 1982 film, Doraemon in Wonderland. The film was released on March 8, 2014 in Japan and is the 34th film by Doraemon, the fifth highest-grossing animated film of 2014 in Japan in the anime genre. The opening theme is "Yume or Kanaete Doraemon", performed by MAO and the final theme is "Hikari no Signal" performed by Kis-My-Ft2.

The film begins with Gian, Shizuka, Nobita and Suneo talking about their possible adventure during their summer holidays. Suneo and Gian tired of thinking about it, they pass this responsibility to Nobita, who asks for help from Doraemon. So they decide to launch a rocket from the roof of their house, to take pictures of every little part of the Earth.

Meanwhile Tamako, Nobita's mother, instructs her son to do the shopping. On his way to the market, he passes by the playground and here he meets an abandoned dog. Thinking he is hungry, Nobita buys sausages while shopping and gives them to the dog. At home, Nobita and Doraemon are unfortunately unable to view all the more than 930 million photos taken from the satellite, looking for a place to embark on their adventure.

Nobita discovers that the dog he met earlier followed him to his home, but Tamako who doesn't want pets in the house tells Nobita that his bag is missing. After the dog easily finds the bag through the smell of Tamako's slipper, Nobita is allowed to hold the dog and so Peko calls him.

Peko finds the photo of a mysterious statue covered in fog, which is located in an unknown place in Africa and so the group finally decides to leave to solve the mystery.
