Looney Tunes back in action

After the movie "Space Jam" with basketball star Michael Jordan, the Looney Tunes are back, starring in a film together with the actors Jenna Elfman from the telefilm "Dharma & Gregg" and Brendan Fraser from the film "The Mummy". Robert Zemeckis' film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" of 1988 certainly made school in the art of integrating cartoons into a film (or vice versa) and certainly still remains an inimitable cornerstone, but Looney Tunes Back in Action by Joe Dante, can be considered a worthy heir, since unlike "Space Jam", the characteristics of the Looney Tunes characters are fully enhanced in all their sympathy and originality. It is no coincidence that the film is titled Looey Tuns Back in Action, that is, the Looney Tunes are back in action.

The Looney Tunes Back in Action movie stars Bugs Bunny and Duffy Duck. As usual Duffy Duck is jealous of the celebrity and the successes achieved by his eternal rival Bugs Bunny, so he decides to have a face to face with the managers of Warner Brows, so that they make a film just for him, which sees him as the absolute protagonist. In response, Duffy Duck is fired and kicked out of Warner Brows Studios by new manager Kate Houghton (actress Jenna Elfman from the telefilm "Dharma & Gregg"). But physically "kicking out" the furious Duffy Duck is not an easy task and aspiring stuntmen DJ Drake (actor Brendan Fraser interpreter of "The Mummy") tries to deal with this, with the result that after a series of troubles and disasters, he too is fired. The two find themselves in spite of themselves, united by the same fate as unemployed, but Daffy Duck is an indomitable duck and sees in the figure of DJ Drake a possible ally, following him and even insinuating himself at his home. Here he discovers that DJ Drake is actually the son of legendary Warner Brows actor Damian Drake (played by Timothy Dalton) who plays Secret Agent 007 movies. They soon discover that Damien Drake is not just an actor playing the part. of a spy, but he is a real spy trying to save the world from the evil president of ACME Corporation Mr Chairman (played by Steve Martin). The evil Mr Chairman, unfortunately manages to discover Damien Drake's plan and kidnap him to learn of a very precious information: where the magical Diamond of the Blue Monkey is hiding, able to subject all humanity to his will. Daffy Duck feels he is finally immersed in an adventure to live as the protagonist and together with his friend DJ Drake, he sets out on a journey in search of clues that could frame the evil Mr Chairman. Meanwhile, Bugs Bunny and new Warner boss Kate Houghton set off on Duffy Duck's trail, as they understand that Bugs Bunny can't act without a Duffy's caliber shoulder. Duffy Duck will travel to Las Vegas to meet showgirl Dusty Tails, who is also an undercover secret agent. Then they enter Area 52, an area so secret that the famous Area 51 (US government secret zone) serves as a cover. It will then be the turn of Paris and the Louvre museum, where Bugs Bunny and Duffy Duck will give life to a hilarious chase hiding among the various paintings of famous painters. Later they will arrive in Africa, penetrating to the heart of the jungle, in order to reach Mr Chairman who is about to take possession of the precious Diamond of the Blue Monkey. In all this succession of events, all the characters of the Looney Tunes will make their appearance: from Cat Sylvester to Willie Coyote, from Taz the Tasmanian devil to the Pallino pig, from Pepè the skunk to Tweety, from Yosemite Sam to Marvin the Martian etc ... all responding to the characterization of classic cartoons. The film is also full of humorous quotes from various films in the history of cinema such as "Psyco", "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", "Lethal Weapon" etc ... Guaranteed fun!
