FATHER PIO

The cartoon film about the life of Padre Pio, one of the most important Italian charismatic figures of the 900th century, is out. The film was produced by the Mondo TV animation studio, which made use of the drawings by Marco and Gi Pagot and directed by Orlando Corradi and the Japanese Jang Chol Su. The proceeds from this film support the "Fabbrica" ​​project of the "San Pio da Pietralcina" house in San Giovanni Rotondo.

The cartoon, aimed mainly at children, tells the life and works of Francesco da Pietralcina, known to all as Padre Pio, who dedicated his existence to the care of the sick and suffering both in body and in spirit. We will see the whole path of the Blessed starting from his childhood, when little Francis was a shepherd and led a flock of sheep, when he happily played with his dogs, when he had the vocation to the priesthood, up to the construction of the hospital "La house of suffering ", built on the basis of the restri of the old convent of the Poor Clares, on the express will of Jesus. It emerges that as a child Padre Pio was not sunny and joyful, but considered surly and introverted by his peers, as he was a meditative thing that already revealed a person with a particular sensitivity, called to something on a different life path, compared to all the others. Solomon, a friend of his, certainly loved him and even protected him, but soon it was Francis who protected many others. Through this figure we will talk about all the sad stories of the men who turned to Padre Pio for help, to solve their problems and who, thanks to him, found healing and serenity. Padre Pio had a particular dedication to children, as the youngest were those whom Jesus had favored. Mysteriously marked by the stigmata, the fame of his holiness soon spread and this also spread doubts, criticisms and suspicions. The film also shows the problems of Padre Pio with his superiors who did not understand his greatness and exiled him to Ancona. The only enemy he fought against day by day was the devil, who tried to circumvent him in every way and who never managed to bend him since Padre Pio lived in God. An itinerary in which joy is born of suffering and in which all suffering comes. erased by love.

The film is not full of special effects, but aims at simplicity and the storytelling of events. The drawings, which are affected by the Japanese influence of Jang Chol Su, reach spectacularity in the scenes where the tempting devil appears, even without violence and without frightening the children, as Padre Pio will always be the winner.
