Pirates of the Caribbean - Beyond the Borders of the Sea

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" will arrive in cinema on May 18, 2011, in Disney Digital 3D ™, with the script written by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, based on the characters created by Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Stuart Beattie and Jay Wolpert and inspired by the tale of Tim Powers.

The encounter between Jack Sparrow, the legendary pirate of the Seven Seas and Angelica, the mysterious woman who emerges from her past (played by Penelope Cruz), shakes the tormented life of the protagonist. Jack can't figure out if he's met the woman of his life or a cynical adventurer who wants to use him to find the legendary Fountain of Youth. Angelica forces him to board the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the terrible pirate Blackbeard (played by Ian McShane) forcing him to a heroic undertaking during which he will not know if he will have to fight against Blackbeard or the mysterious woman.

 

Characters

Jack Sparrow
Captain Jack Sparrow is an ironic and irreverent pirate who terrorizes merchant ships that pass the Caribbean sea. With a contradictory personality, his courage is equal to his selfishness and while full of vices he can perform heroic deeds, which put his own life at risk. Jack Sparrow loves the ocean and his ship Black Pearl, which will be stolen from him several times in the course of his adventures. After taking on the accursed Captain Barbossa, the fearsome Davy Jones and the evil Lord Cutler Beckett in previous adventures, Captain Jack Sparrow will now have to contend with the famous pirate Blackbeard.

angelica
Mysterious and enigmatic woman, but with an irresistible charm, she always remains on the border between truth and lies. Gifted with a great talent for disguises, which she learned from her master Jack Sparrow she is also a skilled helmsman. Angelica knows how to fence like a perfect pirate and, like them, she has no scruples in plundering merchant ships. Angelica's mission is to save Blackbeard's soul with the discovery of the fountain of Eternal Youth.

Barbosa
Hector Barbossa, is a pirate who comes from the world of the dead. After losing a leg and La Perla Nera, Barbossa replaced the black and silver with the lavish blue and gold uniform of Her Majesty's Navy. Now Barbossa is in command of Providence, on which the British flag flies in place of the pirate, and declares obedience to the King and the country. But what drives Barbossa to the Fountain of Youth, in pursuit of Captain Jack Sparrow and Blackbeard? Courage, the taste for challenge or the thirst for revenge ...

Blackbeard
Blackbeard is the terror of the southern seas, scary only at the sound of his name. The Queen Anne's Revenge is his ship commanded by zombies and adorned with the carcasses of his victims. Fire cannon shots from the bow to sink enemy ships or the pirates themselves they don't like. Blackbeard is an expert in black magic and his sword possesses one of Triton's three sapphires. Blackbeard is looking forward to his death and wants at all costs to find the water of the Fountain of Youth.

Syrena (Astrid Bergès-Frisbey)

A beautiful, enigmatic mermaid swimming against the tide of her most evil marine sisters.

Mystery surrounds this creature, right down to its real name, as "Syrena" is none other than the way missionary Philip Swift called her while he was a prisoner of Blackbeard. After the other sea sirens attack Blackbeard in Whitecap Bay, Syrena and Philip begin to recognize qualities in each other that bring them closer, allowing them to ally themselves against their common enemy. Day after day they discover more about their true essence, but by listening to their heart they endanger their lives.
