Spies undercover an animated film on the comedy / espionage / action genre made in cgi computer graphics by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Freely inspired by the animated short film Pigeon: Impossible 2009 by Lucas Martell, the film was directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane on their directorial debut. In the US version he was voiced by Will Smith (Lance Sterling) and Tom Holland (Walter Beckett) alongside Rashida Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, and DJ Khaled in supporting roles. The film premiered at the El Capitan Theater on December 5, 2019 and will be released in Italy on December 25, 2019 at the cinema, simultaneously with the United States.
The story tells of Lance Sterling, a super secret agent, charming and flawless at work. Walter Beckett is a brilliant young scientist who is involved in creating secret weapons and incredible gadgets. A fortuitous event will unite the two unlikely heroes, who must learn to rely on each other for the most important of missions: saving the planet.
