Scrat and the acorn - Ice Age 4 - Continents drifting
Blue Sky Studios / 20th Century Fox | It is useless to tell you that once again Scrat will be the protagonist of the first minutes of the story. How? It is still in search of its acorn, but this time it will cause the detachment of the continents that will have catastrophic consequences. While Manny and company in fact live a quiet life, they would never expect to suddenly find themselves at sea, saved only by a piece of iceberg, due to the detachment of the continents, caused by the Scrat acorn. And to think that Manny until a few minutes before was struggling with the existential problems of his daughter Pesca, who for no reason does not want to obey the rules imposed by her father. Sid, on the other hand, had found his family and was delighted. But he couldn't think that theirs was just a tactic to get rid of the elderly grandmother. And in fact, dear Granny will stay with Sid, who will find herself on the same iceberg as Manny and Diego ready for a new adventure. Our heroes will be removed from the pack and their only goal will be to return home. But things won't be that simple as they end up on a pirate ship. Captain Guts and his crew will make them prisoners to be enslaved for adventures at sea. On the ship, life is not easy even if there is a big news for Diego. One of the crew members is Shira, a pretty little tiger cub, who sharpens her sharp teeth when hunting for prey. Will there be room in his heart for a new love? Apparently Diego has fallen in love with her, but it will not be easy to conquer her! For her, in fact, the most important thing is her traveling companions, the pirates, but she does not know that the loyalty she has towards Gut is not at all reciprocated. For the captain, in fact, what matters most are the treasures and the title of king of the seas, which he gives himself after the continental drift. Meanwhile, Ellie and Pesca will be left alone with a very difficult task: to save the herd and lead them to safety on dry land. In this adventure, Pesca will come to terms with his first love, Ethan, a very coveted little Mammoth among girls. Together with Pesca there will also be a little friend, it is Lotus. In the end, however, as in the best stories there will be a happy ending! Everyone will return to hug each other more mature and wiser than before, because as Sid says "after every storm there is always a rainbow". Characters
Manny separates from his family - Ice Age 4 - Continents drifting away

However, it will not be the family we have known in the three previous chapters. In fact the whole world of Manny changes and after all the years have passed and it is normal that this is the case. In fact, her beloved Peach is no longer a puppy but a teenager who grows up and is curious to find out what is around her. She took it from her dad: she is in fact a little crazy but also from her mother, the know-it-all air of someone who knows everything never leaves her. It will be precisely because of a strong quarrel between Manny and Pesca that the irreparable will happen. In fact, Manny ends up in the sea just as the glaciers are melting and is unable to be next to his family. From here will start the new adventure of which our beloved mammoth will be the protagonist. A journey begins in which he will not have his family by his side but only one goal: to go home, hug his family and make peace with little Pesca. Will he make it? Certainly Manny throughout the story will prove to be a brave hero worthy of a real "Ice Age" adventure. Obviously, the mammoth for which Manny has lost his mind and loved: we are talking about Ellie. She will play a huge role because when Manny is separated from the pack, it's up to her to lead everyone else. There will not even be Diego and Sid so all the responsibility will fall on her but she will certainly be up to this role. His task will be to bring the pack to dry land. Unlike Manny, Ellie gets along very well with her daughter, perhaps she understands her more. He realizes that little Peach is not the puppy Manny would like him to be. She's grown so much that she seems to have taken her first crush. Will she be able to be a mom-friend and give her some useful advice? What she tries to make her puppy understand is that she must not change at all for others and that she must be proud of being a Mammoth. Ethan, however, the mammoth Peach fell in love with, apparently doesn't like some aspects of the baby very much. For her part, she tries to demonstrate in every way that she has grown up, even if before the drift she disobeys her dad several times, which she will regret bitterly when she realizes it. To be useful, he will help his mother in guiding the herd to the mainland. Ethan is much admired among teenagers, so much so that he has a small handful of fans ready to do anything for him.
Diego and Shira - Ice Age 4 - Continents drifting
Blue Sky Studios / 20th Century Fox | From Manny and Ellie we move on to Diego: we left it in the third chapter and we find it in excellent shape. What will it do? What will his role be in this amazing new adventure? We can tell you that he will be of great help to Manny, so his role is a good guy despite his sharp teeth and his reputation as a bad guy. For him too, life changes when the world breaks apart. The glaciers melt and a new path begins for him. This time, however, perhaps the time has come for him to find a soul mate. Will we see him happy next to a tiger cub? It would seem so: Shira
has everything that drives him crazy, even though he hasn't experienced a similar feeling before. Yet he must surrender to love: when it arrives, nothing can really be done! Shira is not a tiger like the others: she is a pirate and, despite her love for Diego, she does not want to leave her life to join the pack. In fact, he prefers to stay by the side of Capitan Sbudella, his adventure companion in travels along the sea. So for Diego comes the time to choose: to turn his life around by choosing the path of love or to go back to the classic life he has always led? Apparently the sentiment will not be as strong and Diego will choose to go back to the past, but he will probably regret this decision forever.
Big news also for Sid: do you remember that in the first chapter of Ice Age he was abandoned by his family? Well, he will have good news: they will return to the village, even if the intentions are not the positive ones we might have thought.
Sid he is delighted to see his father Milton, the melodramatic mother Eunice and his uncle Fungus: what will they want from him? To be forgiven for the time they left him alone? Definitely not: what they want to do is get rid of their grandmother and apparently they succeed because Sid will end up with her at the moment of the drift. You will not believe it but Granny becomes a real protagonist of this fourth chapter of the saga. She is short-sighted but above all very presumptuous and always wants to have the last word. Imagine what can happen with Granny in search of the lost pack after the drift ...
Captain Sbudella - Ice Age 4 - Continents drifting

In a self-respecting adventure, the villains certainly cannot be missing and as we have anticipated previously, Captain Gut will be one of them. After the drift of the continents he proclaimed himself king of the seas but he did not reckon with Manny and his friends. The group steals the ship and the treasures that the pirates had accumulated for a long time. For Gobble begins a real hunt against those who have dared so much. There will also be the men of his crew: we will meet, for example, Sguincio or Raz who is a kangaroo who hides weapons to be afraid of in his pocket. And what about Gabien the little bird that is always on the shoulder of Captain Sbudella able to deliver deadly blows if needed. Ghendalì is a Bengali badger who is part of the crew and one of his characteristics is that of being a looter. Its usefulness on the ship, however, is another: it has the perfect black and white skin for use in a special way. How? It seems that a skull is drawn on its mantle and in fact for this reason it is used as a flag. Pachi is also part of the crew and is a sea elephant who certainly does not have intelligence among his skills. While he does not immediately understand what his teammates are asking him and what are the captain's orders, on the other hand he has courage to sell and is ready to do anything for others.
Diego and Sid - Ice Age 4 - Continents drifting
Blue Sky Studios / 20th Century Fox | Why see this movie The story is certainly engaging, hilarious and full of laughter, all ingredients that go very well with the expectations of both children, but also adults. Ice Age 4 is a film for everyone to see with the family, on a Sunday afternoon or to choose for a carefree Saturday night! This is also testified by the great success that the Century Fox film also had in America, where Ice Age made its debut in July 2012. The fact that the film can be seen in 3D makes it even more interesting: there it will seem to be catapulted into the waves together with Sid and the other protagonists on board the iceberg. We will feel like we can touch the acorn that Scrat pursues with such passion. We will realize how gigantic Manny and Ellie are and we will come into contact with a world that we can only see in books and on TV. What about the new characters that we will learn about in this fourth chapter? Perfectly studied and designed, they will make us even more passionate. Surely one of the best is Shira: it took a bit of love even for the bad guy of the story! Diego will lose his head for her who is really sensual and elegant, thanks to her ice-colored fur. The character of the cynical grandmother was very successful, but which also hides some sides to be discovered. To give the final touch there are the voice actors for the Italian version of the film: Bisio who will give the deputy to Sid, Pino Insegno who will instead be Shira's good and cooked Diego, and finally Pannofino who will dub the fearsome pirate Captain Gobble. An adventure not to be missed the one that awaits us at the cinema from 28 September 2012!
