In the distant planet Cybertron a war is underway between the good Autobots, led by Optimus Prime and the evil Decepticons, led by the terrible Megatron. These aliens are not made of biological material, but metallic and can take different forms of vehicles: from the car to the helicopter, from the tank to the seaplane or any other type of technological means. They are powered by the energy of the Energon cubes, which are starting to run out on their planet, therefore their battlefield moves to earth, where an Energon cube resides. On earth we find the boy Sam Witwicky (played by Shia LaBeouf), grandson of the explorer who first met Megatron at the North Pole, the only one who knows where the Energon cube resides, therefore of fundamental importance for the fate of the alien war and of the very survival of mankind. But Sam ignores that he is at the center of this responsibility, continuing to behave like any teenager his age, having his heart and thoughts turned solely to his beloved, friend Mikaela (played by Megan Fox). Once on earth, the Autobots mingle with the most common vehicles and meet Sam after transforming into his yellow Kamaro.
Sam will have to help Optimus Prime and his Transformers in search of the Energon cube, before it falls into the hands of the terrible Decepticons, who thanks to this power could conquer the entire galaxy. The rhythms of the film and of the action scenes are very fast, full of twists, while the transformations are made with an accuracy of details to leave you speechless.
The film is produced by Steven Spielberg, director of absolute masterpieces of science fiction cinema such as "ET - The Extraterrestrial" and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and is directed by Michael Bay, also not new to this type of experience, just think that he was the director of Armageddon, in addition to the spectacular Pearl Harbor and The Rock. The special effects, which in this film occupy at least 80% of the scenes, were entrusted to the masters of George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic (a film above all: Star Wars ).
