The cast of the film sees Will Smith (Al , Men in Black) in the role of the incredible Genius; Mena Massoud (Jack Ryan) as the charming villain Aladdin; Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) as the beautiful and independent princess Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari (Assassination on the Orient Express) plays the powerful wizard Jafar.
Navid Negahban (Legion) takes the role of Sultan, worried about his daughter's future; Nasim Pedrad (Saturday Night Live) - Dalia, Princess Jasmine's best friend and confidant; Billy Magnussen (Into the Woods) plays Prince Anders, Jasmine's handsome and arrogant suitor; Numan Acar (The Great Wall) - Hakim, Jafar's right hand man and captain of the palace guards.
The Disney film Aladdin is produced by Dan Lin, pga, (Sherlock Holmes) and Jonathan Eirich, pga, (Death Note), while Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Marc Platt (La La Land) and Kevin De La Noy (The Dark Knight Rises) serve as executive producers. The score is composed by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken (The beauty and the Beast, The little Mermaid) and includes new versions of the original songs written by Menken and Oscar-winning lyricists Howard Ashman (The Little Shop of Horrors) and Tim Rice (The Lion King), as well as two unreleased songs made by Menken himself and by the Oscar and Tony winning composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen).
Shot in London studios and in stunning desert locations in Jordan, the film boasts a highly talented creative team that brought the city of Agrabah to life, including director of photography Alan Stewart (The Man on the Train - The Commuter), production designer Gemma Jackson (Game of Thrones) and costume designer Michael Wilkinson (American Hustle).
The 1992 animated film, which featured the presence of Robin Williams in the original vocal cast and which contained unforgettable songs such as the Oscar®-winning track "A Whole New World" ("Il Mondo Mio") and "Friend Like Me" ("A Friend Like Me"), grossed over $ 502 million at the global box office, resulting in successful theatrical productions on Broadway and around the world, and also leading to the creation of a traveling theater company in North America.
