History
Set in the prehistoric era, when primitive creatures and furry mammoths roamed the earth, the animated film Primitives, tells the story of the caveman Debt, a frail man and a bit clumsy, but with great ingenuity and his faithful companion in adventure, the Boar Snout. To save their home, Dug convinces tribal chief Bobnar to join forces to fight a war against the mighty Lord Nooth, the king of the city of the Bronze Age, technologically far superior to that of the primitive tribes. To free his people he will propose a game of football to Lord Nooth: in case of victory they will regain their freedom, but in case of defeat they will become their slaves forever.
The film was directed and written by Nick Park, alongside Mark Burton and John O'Farrell. Produced by Aardman Animations (Wallace and Gromit,
Down the tube,
Shaun the Sheep), the film was made with the stop motin technique and is co-financed by Aardman and StudioCanal. Its first release in cinemas is scheduled for January 26, 2018, in the United Kingdom, while in Italy it will have to wait for theFebruary 8, 2018.
