Lady and the Tramp is the new live-action and 3D computer graphics remake of the famous and eponymous 1955 animation classic written by Erdman Penner, Joe Rinaldi, Ralph Wright and Don DaGradi, which will premiere on November 12, 2019 on Disney +.
The story tells of Lilli, a spoiled and pampered American Cocker Spaniel, who lives in an elegant suburban neighborhood with her owners, Jim Dear and Darling. Here Lilli becomes friends with Whiskey, a Scottish snob Terrier and Trusty, a Chien de Saint-Hubert breed dog that is always bored.
Life changes for Lilli when the spouses give birth to a child, as little Cocker is no longer the center of their attention, and the arrival of cat-loving Aunt Sarah, who can't stand dogs, complicates matters. Lilli driven out of the house by Aunt Sarah soon finds herself alone on the streets, in a disreputable part of the city. Fortunately, she meets Biagio known as Vagabondo, a streetwise mixed breed dog who quickly teaches her the rules of street life. So Lilli and the Vagabond, in a short time will spend pleasant moments together with moonlight walks in the park and romantic candlelit spaghetti dinners. Vagabond relishes the independence of a world without leashes or fences alongside her friends Peg and Bull, but Lilli lacks the comfort and security of a family, and soon both will have to decide where to stay and who to belong to.
Lady is voiced in the original language by Tessa Thompson, while Justin Theroux plays tramp. The other voices are by Sam Elliott for Fido, Ashley Jensen for Whiskey, Janelle Mon e for Gilda, Benedict Wong for Bull and Rowan Blanchard for Angel
The film is directed by Charlie Bean with a screenplay by Andrew Bujalski and Kari Granlund and is produced by Brigham Taylor, with Diane L. Sabatini serving as executive producer.
