Saving Mr Banks

Walt Disney iterpreted by Tom HanksIl February 20 2014 Saving Mr. Banks, the latest production by Walt Disney, made in homage to the 50th anniversary of the release on the screens of Mary Poppins
The film is directed by John Lee Hancock and starring a cast of leading actors such as Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman, Ruth Wilson, Rachel Griffiths, BJ Novak, Bradley Whitford, Kathy Baker, Victoria Summer, Dendrie Taylor and Ronan Vibert.

Saving Mr. Banks is the chronicle of the final phase of a long battle conducted by Walt Disney with Pamela Lyndon Travers to obtain the rights necessary for the film adaptation of Mary Poppins, a character born in 1934 from the pen of this Australian writer.
The film focuses on those two weeks in 1961, when the author arrived from London to Los Angeles to define the agreement with Disney, developing a plot where the childhood memories of the mum by Mary Poppins alternate with the story of the events that occurred in those days.
And the first scene of Saving Mr. Banks is a flashback, in which the director proposes a Travers in a child version, who enjoys running, carefree, on the meadows of his Australia. A few moments of sweetness and innocence before one enters the scene Pam transformed into a mature lady Pamela Lyndon Travers iterpreted by Emma Thompson(Emma Thompson), who wants to appear unpleasant at all costs, with her homework and detached ways in perfect Victorian style, arrived in the New Continent to hinder Walt Disney's proposals on the film version of his creature, Mary Poppins.

The meeting between the writer and theDream Man (Tom Hanks) opens the long and mutual series of quarrels, in which musicians and screenwriters will also be involved, with continuous discussions on every detail of the film, starting with unsavory songs and by horrible interludes animated with penguins.
But the one who never tired of repeating if you can dream it you can do it and, to fulfill his daughters' desire to see their beloved Mary Poppins on the big screen, he had literally fought for twenty years, could not succumb to the whims of Miss Travers; it will be precisely the boyish aspect of Walt Disney creative and human and certainly not that of business man to come out on top.
Uncle Walt thus discovers that behind the hateful Pamela Lyndon Travers hides a little girl who was orphaned at the age of eight of a father from the bankruptcy existence, deceased, prey to the fumes of alcohol, but from her, always and despite everything , loved to the point of bringing him back to life, in his novels, through the character of George Banks, the upright London banker, father of those nasty children entrusted to a nanny who with her magic "he always manages to put things back in their place, to then fly away when the wind changes".Walt Disney iterpreted by Tom Hanks
And right from here, Walt Disney restarts for the definitive conquest of Pam and Mary Poppins, succeeding, in giving the sensation to the writer (and to the public) that on those Australian meadows belonging to her childhood, the two ran together, holding hands.

Saving Mr. Banks is a classic Disney-style family comedy, in which the viewer is pleasantly involved by the rhythm of the alternation between the past and the present and by a plot cleverly built on the funny and ironic character punctiliousness of the characters, enhanced excellently from the interpretation by the different actors of the cast.
The music that made the author, Thomas Newman, receive an Oscar nomination for best soundtrack.
