Shark Tale

Shark Tale is the animated film, distributed by Dreamworks and made in 2004 by Bibo Bergeron and Vicky Jenson, which will be released in theaters on February 25th.
The story, set in an underwater seabed manipulated by the "tentacles" of the mafia, has as its protagonist Oscar, an imaginative and persuasive little fish, with many brilliant ideas for his future, who works in a whale wash and never stops talking: sometimes he really shoots them so big at his boss that he throws him to the sharks ... but thanks to his good luck he always manages to get away with it. One day he makes believe he killed Frankie (who actually died pierced by an anchor) one of the two sons of Don Lino (voiced by Robert De Niro in the American original), a fearsome white shark and local Boss. Thus he becomes famous and popular as a hero, therefore he is baptized sharkslayer "(the shark slayer) and is welcomed under the protective wing of the antagonists of the mafia shark. However, following this affair serious troubles begin, because Don Lino wishes avenge the death of his son. Fortunately there will be Lenny, the other son of the Boss, who has the big defect of being a vegetarian: he is the only one who knows the truth about his brother's death and after being repudiated by his father , will go to live with Oscar, who will literally save his fins! Yes, but how? Besides, will Lenny, among many adventures, be able to change his father's mentality? And will Oscar be able to become a true hero?
The animation is not only fun and lively (thanks to the many gags and cinematic quotes, some of which represent a tribute to the film The Godfather), it is also extremely successful on a technical level (the drawings and settings are very pleasant and dynamic) and on the narrative one. The psychological-humorous profile of the secondary characters is also commendable and well conducted: Sykes (voiced by Martin Scorsese), an opportunistic puffer, who realizing Oscar's fame will try to take advantage of it; Don Brizzi, a shark with a great desire to do despite his seniority, who, from the height of his experience, always dispenses good advice; Luca, a slimy octopus; Bernie and Ernie, two "freck" jellyfish who work for Sykes and have a great sense of humor; Angie (voiced by Renee Zellweger), a small female shark secretly in love with Oscar, even before she became so popular; Lola, a dragon fish with an irrepressible femininity, which she uses to achieve her goals. The dubbing in the original language then constitutes a superlative setting! Perhaps the plot will be a little simplistic and the ending is obvious, but this does not in any way diminish the overall value of Shark Tale and the sparkling sympathy that reigns there. It is therefore an animation not to be missed!
