The Addams Family is a 3D computer animated horror comedy film based on the Charles Addams comic books of the same name. The film is directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan and in the Italian cast of the dubbing we find the voices of Pino Insegno (Gomez Addams), Virginia Raffaele (Morticia Addams), Eleonora Gaggero (Mercoled Addams), Luciano Spinelli (Pugsley Addams), Raoul Bova (Uncle Fester), Loredana Bert (Grandmother), Chiara Fabiano (Parker Needler). The film will be released in Italian cinemas on October 31, 2019, on the occasion of the Halloween party. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with much praise for the vocal cast, comedy and animation, but criticized the slightly "dark" tone of the original series.
During their wedding ceremony, Gomez and Morticia Addams, along with their family, are chased by an angry mob that disapproves of their macabre monster nature. Gomez and Morticia decide to move to New Jersey, a place where "no one would be killed." There, Gomez, Morticia and Thing find their "perfect" home in an abandoned asylum on a hill where they meet Lurch, a mentally ill escaped from the former asylum whom they immediately recruit as a butler.
Thirteen years later, the Addams family has since lived their sad lives in isolation from the outside world. Gomez prepares his son Pugsley for his next Mazurka, a rite of passage that every member of the Addams family performed as a teenager. Morticia struggles to keep her daughter Wednesday from wanting to experience the world outside the palace after balloons and confetti land on their property.
Elsewhere, TV host Margaux Needler, while building a perfect planned community called "Assimilation," discovers the Addams family and becomes determined to get rid of them when the Addams family refuses to move. She then meets Margaux's neglected daughter Parker on Wednesday and convinces Morticia to let her go to middle school. Meanwhile, Pugsley struggles with the complicated family traditions and pressure of his Mazurka, even with the guidance of Gomez and Uncle Fester.
At school, Wednesday defends Parker from a school bully named Bethany and befriends her. Later, the two discuss their frustrations and change their clothing style - Parker gets more gothic and Wednesday dresses more colorful - causing their respective mothers to shock. After an argument with Morticia, Wednesday decides to escape in secret and stay with Parker.
