Will arrive in Italian cinemas on 25 July but it will be previewed at Giffoni Film Festival on July 22nd. We are talking about Titeuf - the film, French animated feature film inspired by the comic of the same name. Written and directed by Philippe Chappuis, known as Zep, who is also the father of the famous strips, is distributed in Italy by CloudMovie. The film was released in 3D in France on 6 April 2011 and was produced with a budget of 15 million euros. 

Titeuf - the movie manages to mix comedy, emotion, humor and gags: all elements that made the comic strip and its television series (also broadcast in Italy until 2012 by Rai 2, Boing e cartoon network) a success and which have not been lost in the film adaptation (also in 3D) thanks to the direction of the same Zep. 

The protagonist is Titeuf, a 10-year-old boy with a splendid blond tuft on his head who will have to face and solve two serious problems: Nadia's birthday to which he has not been invited e the separation of his parents.
To support him in his adventures there is all his band of friends. In the group they stand out Man , Titeuf's best friend with glasses, who gives him questionable love advice, Hugo the big fat companion who always wears a turtleneck and loves to play pranks on everyone and Jean Claude, forced to wear braces due to which he spits at every word. 

Titeuf has a one-year-old sister, Zizie, which he can't stand and which he presents to the public as a little T-Rex. His dad, who in his eyes is a very strong hero - does research work. For a long time he looked for work - explains Titeuf - but it was very difficult. Now fix the computers. There mum  a housewife and Titeuf loves her. Except when he requires him to eat spinach and do his homework.

Nadia  a delightful blonde girl, classmate of Titeuf. He loves her madly but he never manages to declare himself also because, every time he tries to approach her, he gets into some trouble. When he finally gets courage, he decides to write her one love letter anonymous which, according to him, will make her capitulate: "you are the most beautiful in the universe, your eyes are like two stars and your cheeks like meteorites, it will take you away on my inter-sidereal vessel". Man , to whom Titeuf had a preview of the letter, does not seem very convinced but he does not understand anything, his friend admonishes him: `` girls love poetry ''.
Unfortunately, however, all his projects soon go up in smoke, literally, as two school bullies steal his love letter, roll it up like a cigarette and smoke it.

But Titeuf does not lose heart and resumes writing a new one more beautiful than the first. When he makes his friend read it, he realizes, however, that he has exchanged it with shopping list of the mother. A tragedy. And since tragedies never come alone, Titeuf realizes that everyone has been invited to Nadia's birthday party except him. This is the moment in the film in which the two problems of the little protagonist are mixed. Returning home, in fact, Titeuf finds his little sister fully dressed and ready to go and a little more there is a bag for the trip. Dad and mom need break up with to reflect and Zizie will go for a while with his mother to his grandparents' house in the countryside while he will stay in the city with his father. When Titeuf returns to school he tells his band of friends everything and Man puts forward the hypothesis that his mother has found the love letter that the boy had written for Nadia and, I think it was addressed to her, has gone away in search of the 'anonymous author. 
The next morning Titeuf is very sad, as he leaves the house to go to school he sends a greeting to everyone, but then he realizes that at home there is only his father and he goes even more disheartened starting to understand that 'Is something wrong.

After a bad joke made by Titeuf and his gang, the father is summoned by the headmaster and, together with him, it is advisable to send the child to the psychologist to help him cope with the separation of his parents. And, in the child's imagination, the psychologist becomes a mad doctor who wants to open his head.  
The weekend arrives and Titeuf has to join his mother in the countryside. He will take the train for the first time where he will meet a strange character identical to the French star Johnny Hallyday which will make him live an imaginative musical adventure. Once at the home of his grandparents he realizes that the problem between his parents was not caused by his love letter, even if he continues to receive no explanations on the reasons for the separation. 

The film is oriented towards a happy ending who will put everything in order even if what emerges are the difficulties of adults in explaining to the child the reasons for the separation of his parents, forcing him to rely on his imagination to try to understand. The quality of the film is high with well-rhythmic scenarios, gags that work and tear more than a smile. 
La French criticism however, it was divided on the use of 3D for the making of the feature film, which for many was more a commercial choice than a style choice. Despite this, in the first week of programming in France, Titeuf-le film earned the box office podium.
