VALIANT

Valiant and his friendsDisney's new animated film has been released in theaters, this time using the collaboration of Vanguard Animation (led by Shrek producer John H. Williams), instead of Pixar (see Finding Nemo e The incredibles). Valiant is a film that starts from real historical assumptions. In fact, it is the story of the carrier pigeons that were used during the Second World War by the English army, in order to deliver invaluable strategic information to the troops of the French resistance, besieged by the Nazis. Valiant - General Von TalonThe protagonist is precisely Valiant, a slightly clumsy carrier pigeon of short stature, who is enlisted in the "Royal Passenger Pigeon Service" in order to deliver the messages to the guerrilla mice of the French resistance. Valiant finds himself having to fly along the Channel Strait and having to evade the surveillance of the German Falcon Brigade, a group of predatory hawks, tasked with intercepting English pigeons. Despite his not excellent athletic prowess, Valiant will manage to avoid the terrible falcons led by General Von Talon, Valiant and his friendsthanks to his cunning and a bit of luck. In France, together with his pigeon friends, he will meet the guerrilla mice to whom he will send messages about the moves of the Germans, in order to foresee the appropriate strategic countermeasures. After a series of daring adventures and action-packed twists, Valiant and his friends will be able to complete his mission which will be fundamental on the day of the fateful landing in Normandy by the allied forces. The little pigeon Valiant will therefore teach that what matters is not physical superiority, but the greatness of will and courage.
