The Batman Returns is a 1992 American / British film by Tim Burton. It is the sequel to Batman, released in 1989, based on the character from DC Comics.
In Gotham City, a wealthy couple, Tucker and Esther Cobblepot (Paul Reubens and Diane Salinger), abandon their baby at birth by throwing him into the sewers due to his deformity. He is collected and raised by penguins in the zoo. Thirty-three years later, Oswald Cobblepot (Danny DeVito) grew up in the sewers and re-emerged as a criminal named The Penguin. He kidnaps an industrial millionaire, Max Shreck (Christopher Walken). Due to the Penguin's evidence of the criminal activities of Shreck's affairs, Shreck offered to take him out of the sewers and into the Gotham elite. The penguin develops a plan to enter the public world by posing as a hero. He kidnaps the mayor's son and then delivers him himself. Despite the penguin's popularity, millionaire Bruce Wayne, aka Batman (Michael Keaton), remains skeptical of the latter. Investigate the penguin's past and establish a connection with a gang of criminals, the Red Triangle Circus Gang. The gang recently devastated Gotham, resulting in the disappearance of several children. He decides to defend Gotham against them.
