Rivarossi locomotives are made with great attention to detail, which will make the eyes of collectors and model-making enthusiasts very happy. The peculiarities of these locomotives are many: first of all they are made of metal, they are equipped with lights that turn on depending on the direction of travel of the locomotive, more in detail white when the train goes straight and red when the train goes backwards, and they also have two types of coupling, of which the first is the one with a hook and the second with a magnet, which will allow the locomotive to better tow the other wagons, preventing them from blocking on the path and constituting an obstacle for the locomotive itself. It should also be noted that the variety of locomotives is able to cover most of the history of the train: steam locomotives, diesel locomotives and more modern locomotives are the different types of locomotives that can be purchased.

The catalog of Rivarossi wagons is also quite vast: in fact, it will pass from restaurant wagons up to the goods wagons, up to the wagons that transport fuel, which come with a fairly large tank, in which it seems that the fuel is actually present within it.
Examining the first category, that is wagons for people, it can be immediately noticed how these are quite spacious, but have a small non-negligible defect: inside this type of wagons are empty, and therefore you will not notice the chairs, tables or lights that are actually present inside this type of wagon. Also note the presence of the electricity poles, which can be placed outside the path near the tracks and the various trolleys carrying luggage, which will help to make the station that will be created more realistic.
In addition to the buildings, the poles and the various factories, other accessories that will help build a good surrounding landscape are the bridges and tunnels: these two elements, also in resin, can be placed on the path, and thanks to their size they will not constitute obstacles for the train, which will pass under them without encountering any kind of difficulty.

The only defect, given the high number of advantages these trains enjoy, is to be attributed to the wagons that transport people: as mentioned before, the fact that these do not have any type of furniture inside them, except the windows that show the void inside them, it represents a small defect, as people could not get on them, even if it is a simple model, which in any case must be able to faithfully represent the real wagon and should above all facilitate the development of the owner's fantasy.
