What is the Pokemon Card Game?
Two opponents collide, playing the role of two Pok mon Trainers. Each turn each player deploys their Pok mon plus others on the bench, increasing the attack value by adding Energy cards, Evolving Pok mon and playing Training Cards, all to put KO the opponent's Pok mon so as to win the game.
What do you need to play?
A bunch of 60 cards for each player. In addition, you must also have one currency to launch and gods markers to mark damage received from Pok mon.
How to win the game?
The game can be won by either player in 3 ways:
1) Winning all of them 6 the Prize Cards placed next to each player by the player himself; the Prize Card is won when you KO an opposing Pok mon;
2) When the opponent runs out of cards in his deck;
3) When the opponent has no Pok mon to replace after his active Pok mon is KO'd, his Bench is therefore empty.
What are the types of cards?
There are 3 types of cards:
a)
Pok mon cards, represent the player's Pok mon and are divided between Pok mon Base ed Evolutions, the latter can only be used when the Pok mon active or on the bench is the pre-evolution
of Evolution card. Some Pok mon Cards have, in addition to attack or attacks, a Special effect (Skills) which can be used before the attack.
b)
Energy cards, they are the energy that Pok mon need to attack; there are 9 types of Energy Cards: Grass, Electro, Fire, Psycho, Water, Dark, Metal, Fight and Colorless; only the Colorless one can be used on all Pok mon, the others are used only on Pok mon that require that type of Energy Card. Pok mon that only require Colorless Cards can use other forms of Energy as well.
c)
Training Cards, are divided into various types, such as: Supporter, Team Rocket Secret Machine, etc.. and all have different instructions and functions, you have to read the writing and use it when it is convenient, when used they are immediately placed Discard pile.
How do you start playing?
- First of all, yes flip a coin to decide which of the two players will go first, after that both players decide 6 Prize cards from their deck, carefully chosen. With the remaining 54 cards
the deck is shuffled and 7 cards are drawn.
- Always check if in the 7 cards drawn there is at least one Basic Pok mon Card, if you don't have it, yes show the cards to the opponent, they are added to the deck, shuffled and yes
they draw 7 cards again, checking again. If no Basic Pok mon Cards are found on the first draw, theopponent has the right to draw 2 cards on top of his deck.
- You place the Pok mon active face down on the field and they can place up to 5 Pok mon on the bench, then place the remaining deck of cards on the right of each player and start the game.
Il
first player, decreed by the coin, does not draw the card from the deck during the first turn, the game is played in turns, playing one each. During the turn, the player can perform many operations, while his opponent will have to wait his turn to perform the operations. After drawing the card, before attacking the opposing Pok mon you can do the following:
-
Add another Pok mon on the bench, possibly freshly caught;
-
Replacing the KO'd Pok mon from one of those on the Bench, (rare in the first round);
- Far Evolve one or more Pok mon, you can evolve Benched and Active Pok mon, you cannot evolve a Pok mon that has just been placed or that has already evolved that turn. THE Evolved Pok mon keep their damage counters, but they come changes of state canceled, such as Poisoned, Asleep and Confused.
- You can assign an Energy Card to one of the Pok mon, both the Active and the Benched ones. It can be assigned a single Energy Card per turn!
- To assign Training cards as many times as you want, only for supporter and for Stadium this operation
it can be done only once, in the sense that either a Supporter Card or a Stadium can be played per round. When playing a Training Card you must do what is written on the card, then discard the Card by placing it on top of your deck, i.e. in the Discard Pile.
-
Use Pok mon Special Effects, both of the Active and of those on the Bench. Each Special Effect, if present, is different and therefore the procedure must be read carefully, often requiring the use of Energy Cards.
-
Collect a Pok mon, this it cannot be done during the first turn of the starting player. The active Pok mon that retreats often requires a "cost" of Energy Cards, other times the retreat is free. The Pok mon will be replaced by one of those on the Bench, the Pok mon withdrawn keeps damage tokens, but i Changes of state on it disappear when he arrives on the Bench. A Pok mon Asleep or Paralyzed cannot retreat, except in special cases, under the action of Special Effects or Training Cards.
-
Attack the opponent's Active Pok mon. You can attack only once per turn, the attacker is always your Active Pok mon, if it has multiple attacks, you can only ever use one. It is of course necessary to check if the attack is possible, that is, if the Pok mon has the necessary amount of Energy Cards to carry out the attack. When the attack is possible, the damage counters must always be marked on the opposing Pok mon, so as to make the remaining Hp (Life Points) of the opposing Pok mon readable. During the attacks it is advisable to view any Weaknesses and Resistances
of the opposing Pok mon, for example Gengar is resistant to Fight, while Arcanine is weak to Water. When the Defending Pok mon has the weakness of the attacking Pok mon, damage is doubled, instead when there is a Resistance, damage is reduced by 30 Hp. Often an attack can create a Special Effect, such as Gligar could Poison therefore, it would reduce the HP of the attacked Pok mon by 10 Hp per turn. Other changes of state are Confusion, Burned, Frozen and Paralyzed.
- After the attack you have to check if yes KO sent. the Pok mon attacked, in that case, the defending Pok mon player stacks the Pok mon Card onto the Discard Pile and must immediately replace it with a Benched Pok mon, if he doesn't have any, he loses the game. The winner, on the other hand, KO the opposing Pok mon, take one of his Prize Cards. In cases where both Pok mon KO, the current player is the last to choose one of their Prize Cards.
- After each Attack, or in cases where there is not yet enough Energy Cards a "Pass", the opponent's turn is passed, and so on until the Victory of one of the two contenders is reached.
Good game!
