This cartoon tells the space-time adventures of Flint Hammerhead, a detective of the time, belonging to the body of the police of the time. He is a caveman who is transported in the 25th century together with his father, Rocky in the form of a fossil archaeological find. The mission to accomplish is to find the Time Shifters, little creatures who have the task of controlling the changes in history. They must be brought back to the Land of Time, where they can reassemble the Tapestry of History and return it to Old Timer, its old keeper. The tapestry is a mosaic made up of many pieces, each representing a certain historical period, Old Timer is given the task of ordering them patiently, but one day the Lord of Darkness arrived, Dark Lord who brought confusion within the mosaic dispersing the Time Shifters in order to twist the story. Flint and his father Rocky, (who however is mistakenly transformed into a stone hammer) in the company of their friends Sara, Tony and Getalong, thanks to the cycle-time, their time machine, then travel in the various historical epochs in search of Time Shifter, clashing several times with Petra, the Dark Lord's right arm, and with his henchmen Dino and Tino.
