The Bramble Wood animated puppet series ("Bramble Wood" in the original English) was based on the childhood stories of the English writer Jill Barklem and tells the adventures of a family of mice that populate the small village of Bosco di Bramble. Bramble, so called because it is located near a blackberry bush. The main protagonists are the young mouse Peverino and his friend Primulina, who in each episode will become protagonists of some courageous and generous enterprise towards the inhabitants of Bosco di Rovo. The animated puppet series was created with the very difficult stop motion technique, where each frame corresponds to a small movement of the characters, who have been built patiently and with attention to detail. Every room, from the inside of the mouse houses, to the hollows of trees and rocks, is a small miniature masterpiece. All the objects and accessories of the mice have been made with impressive care: the pots, the clothes, the frame, the cups are elements that alone they deserve the attention of the viewer. The stories mainly focus on the four seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring, but many more will be added to these.
Among the various episodes we remember that of Peverino's birthday, where the inhabitants of Bosco di Rovo, thanks to the help of Primulina, organize a party in his honor. But things are not going the right way and a series of misunderstandings will risk ruining the surprise of the party. Fortunately, everything will end in the best way.
In another episode Peverino and Primulina, will do everything to make love blossom between the shy baker mouse and a little mouse of the village, also here a series of misunderstandings, will risk destroying the good intentions of the two young lovers.
The episode "Adventure in the mountains" sees Peverino aiming to become a great explorer. In order to be able to read the book of the great explorers. Peverino often goes to the weaver mouse and here he documents himself in detail on how a perfect explorer must behave. The weaver is making blankets to take to the mice that are at the top of the high mountains and for this they will use the guidance of Mr. Pomelli, a mouse who however has problems with one leg. Peverino manages to convince Pomelli and his family to be able to leave for the high mountains and experience the thrill of an exploration. Arrived at the top of the house of the mountain mice, Peverino convinces Mr. Pomelli to do a little exploration in the surroundings, but the fog falls and the two mice get lost. Peverino and Mr. Pomelli are forced to sleep outdoors, but thanks to Peverino's backpack, equipped as required by the manual of the perfect explorer, the two will be able to overcome a thousand difficulties and return safely to their home. Mr. Pomelli will give credit to Peverino whom he will recognize as a perfect explorer.
