Shout! Factory has started broadcasting the trailer with English subtitles of a new clip from the film "In This Corner of the World". The clip (second video) shows how the young Suzu devises a way to rationalize the few provisions available, to prepare equally tasty and creative dishes, collecting local ingredients such as aromatic herbs and flowers, to enjoy meals with her family.

Sunao Katabuchi (Black Lagoon, Mai Mai Miracle) wrote and directed. The anime has sold more than 2 million tickets in Japan since opening last November. The film won the Fujimoto award, the Daijin Award from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Hiroshima Peace Award at the Hiroshima International Film Festival, Kinema Jumpo best Japanese film of the year magazine, the Japan Academy Animation Award of the Year, and the Jury Award in the Feature category Films in Annecy.

Funimation describes the film:

The story of In this corner of the world follows the adventures of a young woman called Suzu Uranus, who in 1944 moved to the small town of Kure near Hiroshima to live with her husband's family. Suzu's life is thrown into chaos when her city is bombed by the Americans during World War II. His perseverance and courage are the basis of this story that comforts and is inspired by the daily challenges of the Japanese, in the midst of a violent and war-torn country. This beautiful and remarkable testimony demonstrates that even in the face of adversity and the loss of loved ones, people can come together and rebuild their lives.
In addition to Japan, the film will be shown in 23 countries. The anime opened in the UK on June 28. The film was also screened at Anime Expo and Katabuchi attended the screening. The film was also recently screened at the Japan Cuts Film Festival in New York on July 23, 2017.

After the enormous success of last season which brought over 140.000 fans to the hall
THE NEW EXTRAORDINARY SEASON OF THE SOULS LANDS ON THE BIG SCREEN AND DEBUTS WITH THE RECORD FILM OF REVENUES IN JAPAN IN THIS WORLD CORNER

Here is the new calendar that will conquer the audience of the cinemas: after In this corner of the world, winner of the 40th edition of the Japan Academy Prize and the Jury Prize at the Annecy Festival, La forma della voce will arrive, a delicate work by director Naoko Yamada who broke the Japanese box office, the very latest docu-film on Master Miyazaki, which portrayed him after the announcement of the retirement (but will it really be like that?)

Tens of thousands of anime and manga fans who, month after month, meet at the cinema. This is the extraordinary phenomenon that is repeated every year, bringing to theaters a very attentive and scrupulous public, the same one that attends the most important comic book fairs throughout Italy.

Now in its fifth appointment, the anime cinema calendar will offer a highly anticipated season for the next months of 2017 distributed as always by Nexo Digital and Dynit (list of cinemas soon on www.nexodigital.it).

It will start on September 19 and 20 with one of the most loved and awarded anime of all 2016, In this corner of the world by Sunao Katabuchi which has collected over 2 million spectators in Japan alone, proving to be a huge success with audiences and critics. Based on the manga by Fumiyo Kouno released in the magazine Weekly Manga Action, the film tells the story of Suzu Urano in Kure, Hiroshima, during the Second World War. The protagonist is in fact a young Japanese woman, a dreamer and full of life, who marries an employee of the Ministry of Justice in the city of Kure immediately before the release of the atomic bomb, in the dramatic days of the conflict that has deeply and indelibly marked the history of Japan. In Kure, Suzu will thus meet a new friend, Rin Shiroki, a new family, a new city and, finally, her new world. The film won the prestigious "Animation of the Year" award at the 40th Japan Academy Prize, the so-called Japanese Academy Awards, competing against giants such as Your Name., Rudolphto Ippaiattena, and One Piece Film Gold. And in June it also won the prestigious Jury Prize at the Annecy Festival.

On October 24th and 25th it will be the moment of La forma della voce, the brave and poetic feature film by one of the rare Japanese directors, Naoko Yamada, who delicately but without pietism tells the difficulties of Shoko Nishimiya, a deaf girl, victim of bullying his partner Shoya, who later also preys on other peers. The film is based on the manga of the same name by Yoshitoki Oima, published in Italy by Star Comics. After positioning itself as one of the highest grossing Japanese films of last season, the film was successfully presented at the Future Film Festival 2017.

On November 14, it will arrive at the Miyazaki cinema. Never Ending Man, the documentary on the creative genius who revolutionized the history of world animation. From Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind to My Neighbor Totoro, from Howl's Moving Castle to The Wind Rises Passing Through Clifftop Ponyo and Poppy Hill, Miyazaki is one of the greatest storytellers ever. In September 2013, Miyazaki announced his retirement from the world of animated film. But he could not hold back his unstoppable desire for creation. An NHK director, who followed him for over 10 years, documented the master's rapprochement with the world of animation, this time with the support of young CGI animators. But it wasn't easy… Miyazaki, who has always been a lover of freehand animation, faced several obstacles. Director Kaku Arakawa commented, “When I started shooting and following Miyazaki for this documentary, he kept saying 'I'm just an old retiree'. But when he started working with young CGI artists, I saw him ignite a second time ”. With an intimate and delicate approach, this documentary portrays Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki at the age of 75, in an attempt to make a comeback once again.

The Season of Anime at the Cinema, distributed by Nexo Digital in collaboration with Dynit and with the support of media partners Radio DEEJAY MYmovies.it, Lucca Comics & Games and VVVVID.
